I stayed here with my husband for our first year wedding anniversary. We were both very pleased with our experience. We had a wonderful, big, clean room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cocktails from the bar were delicious and well priced and my husband enjoyed a whiskey from the huge selection they offer. We had a wonderful meal there as well to celebrate our special day. My husband asked the pianist to play our wedding song. He hadn't heard of it and was only too happy to go away and learn it for us. A lovely touch. We would definitely stay here again.

Was looking forward to another lovely stay in the kingsmills but on arrival I was told I was booked into the newer part called the kings club hotel and spa across the car park I didn't even know it was there. What a lovely hotel, staff were so welcoming even taking me up to my room on arrival the rooms are larger and just as comfy as the kingsmills the welcome tray of goodies was such a lovely touch. And cold milk in the fridge for tea. The shower was amazing and everything seemed so new and fresh and there was bathrobes in the wardrobe. Breakfast was lovely and staff again at breakfast were very friendly and helpfull. Next time I stay ill be hoping for an upgrade again. Best bit was stretching out on my wee couch chilling at the end of a very long day

Room Tip: I think all rooms probably lovely here

Close to the A9 and an easy walk to the town centre, the hotel is in an ideal location. Would certainly recommend a "Retreat" room, which was quite luxurious and had a view of the golf course. Liked the idea of a freshly prepared breakfast served to you in this part of the hotel. All staff were really friendly and attentive. Had a great meal in the main hotel which also has a lovely bar area. This will certainly be our hotel of choice in Inverness. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Definitely go for a "Retreat" room and get one overlooking the golf course

We stayed here for one night and wished we had booked for longer! We stayed in the new building in the retreat room, the room was amazing - huge, comfy bed, huge telly, lovely bathroom and a balcony overlooking the golf course! The staff were really pleasant and helpful! Only tiny niggle we had was there was no bathrobes and slippers as promised but when I informed reception they sent someone up with some within 5 mins - excellent service! The full breakfast was cooked to order and was also fantastic! Looking forward to returning!

Room Tip: Book a retreat room (in the new building), it's expensive but worth it!

Stayed here as part of an Insight Vacations tour of Scotland. probably 2nd best hotel on the tour. Had a newer room which was very nice indeed - if anything too large for a single person. All of the facilities seemed well done and location was fine. However, dining experience was not good. At breakfast, I was seated, ordered coffee, went to buffet and came back to find another party had been seated at the table leaving no room for me!!! Took a while to get a new table - no apology for the mix up. Food at dinner was mediocre at best. Wonderful hotel for sleeping and relaxing but plan on dining elsewhere.

Stayed here on two nights separated by one week. In each case we were told we had been "upgraded" to their Club and spa building with separate check in and breakfasting. Malt whisky was offered on check-in. The rooms were spacious, with good views of the adjacent golf course. American super-king size beds gave a good sleep and the morning breakfast was excellent with friendly service. Dinner was served in the main hotel which was busy with two coach parties, who were accommodated in a "table d'hote" room ( a little demeaning?)and al a carte served in the adjacent conservatory. There were minor issues with reservations for dinner (double entry for one night) and reserved for 6.30pm without that being requested for the second. The maitre d' paced the floor incessantly with a clip board - she would be better sited at a podium and that certainly would be less distracting. Service was excellent. The meal was good with only one disturbing item, especially at £22. An order of halibut produced one piece of halibut and underneath one fillet of haddock - we fish foodies know the difference! This may have been an error in prep. or alternatively we would rather have been told of they had run out of the halibut. As everything else was excellent we would not have disturbed a good dinner by complaining. All in all an expensive but first rate hotel close to the centre of Inverness. Worth a visit.

Room Tip: Ask for free upgrade to the Club and spa building.

We stayed here for 1 night on our group bus tour of Scotland with Insight Vacations in August 2014. The hotel is clean, comfortable, quiet and modern in comparison to some of the other hotels out in the "country roads." It was the second best hotel on our trip (only the Marriott in Glasgow was better). We stayed in the new wing. Other guests staying in the older section said their rooms were very good too. Based on our experience this hotel is a gem if staying in the Inverness area. Highly recommended.
