“Stayed in Annexe building”
Reviewed 14 May 2013

Nice location overlooking the River. At check-in shown I was shown my Room by the reception girl pointing in the general direction of an annexe building next door.
Single room, basic amenities and very dated decor.
Horrendous noise coming from Toilet refill pipework system ...told reception....still to be fixed by the time I left.
Worth checking room location during booking procedure as it may be better to stay in the Main Hotel rooms...??
Won't be rushing back.

Room Tip: Try and stay in the Main Hotel rooms.

Well where do i start.
When we got there was not told that the car park was at the back of hotel. The room was on the ground floor which was one good thing, but as for the rest here i go.
The bathroom had a cracked mirror, toilet holder had seen better days, and to top it all we asked for a toilet roll, IT TOOK 4 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO COME WITH ONE WOW/////////
Also the sheet at the base of the bed was ripped, the excuse oh we are waiting for ones to come in. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. No way should a base sheet like that have been put on, and the attitude of the person who came with the toilet roll, left a lot to be desired. The restaurant was too dark and we had steak it was not good, so for the rest of the week we ate in other places. WE come to Inverness every year and we wont be coming back to the Glen Mohr EVER///// Oh and nearly forgot, when y put cushions on a bed make sure they have both buttons, as one of ours did not. Just little things like that makes a room look better.

Really dissatisfied

We were housed in the annex for our one night stay at the Glen Mohr (thank goodness it was only one night- if we had not paid in advance I would have left on seeing the accomodation). The room was right at the top of the converted house and was unsuitable to contain a double bed - one had to squeeze round the bed (ducking under the tv) to get to the cupboard-sized shower room. The sheets were very worn and the curtains more appropriate to be used as dish-rags.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere elsein another hotel!

Very poor check in, waited over 30 minutes to get the room. couldn't track down the chambermaid to see if it was ready so left us sitting in the foyer.Nice bedroom.WC and sink in a small cupboard. Handy if you want to sit down for the toilet and wash your face at the same time.Shower in another small cupboard over the other side of the room, no bath which we really missed after out walking for hours. You daren't flush the toilet during the night as it is so noisy when refilling and is right next to the 2 single beds which are pushed together to make a double.Curtains are pea thin with no blackout blinds, which meant we were woken at the crack of dawn both mornings.Breakfast was well cooked and service was good. All in all £110 per night grossly overpriced. Maybe the pictures i looked at were for the main building but the room i stayed in was not worth the price paid.Plastic toilet seat and plastic cups really sum this place up.
room 412 avoid if you like a nice bathroom and a good nights sleep.

Room Tip: try another hotel

Large hotel in a great position overlooking the river Ness.
We had a room at the front on the first floor with great views over the river. Room was large and comfortable with a sitting area and a decent sized bathroom with a full sized bath which was a real luxury for us having just finished walking the Great Glen Way from Fort William. The room was clean but the decor is looking distinctly tired with scuffs and marks everywhere and the external parts of the window frames and cills looked to be on their last legs.
Breakfast was very average, we stayed in 6 different B&B's along the walking route and the breakfast at Glen Mhor was bottom of the list. Service was slow, there is an antiquated help yourself toast machine and a distinct lack of items to select if you did not want a cooked breakfast! You really need to try harder.

My husband and I had a very nice stay at the Glen Mhor. We had a king room that was very spacious and clean. Dinner at Nico's was a bit disappointing. Friday night was steak night, so we ordered steak. It was very tough and we were not given a steak knife to saw through the meat. The service was very good however.
The breakfast that was included was very good and cooked to order.
Saturday night we got more than we bargained for. We had been out for dinner, and when we returned to the hotel, we found a wedding reception was being held there. Not to say we crashed the wedding as much as we were pulled in to it. We were welcomed as if we were invited guests! We considered ourselves very lucky to be included and enjoyed taking in Scottish traditions.
I would stay here again and would recommend the Glen Mhor to anyone looking to explore Inverness. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I would caution anyone who has mobility issues to make sure they arrange to stay on the lower floor. There is not an elevator.

Excellent location. Some really nice staff, but I would not include senior ones!!!
Check in was poor, just told that "the room is out the front in a building along the front"!!
Room was OK, warm with all you would expect: a bit dated in decor but in good order, warm and clean.
Had a meal in the resteraunt but when served, my wife's meal was very salty. It was taken back to the kitchen and chef said he had made an error. We were offered another meal but by that time, I had nearly finished mine and would also have to wait for my wife to receive and then finish her meal. My wife decided not to take it and just have a sweet. I don't know how they were going to be able to serve my wife the same meal as it had just been removed from the menu blackboard as we received ours!!! One of the sweets had a brandy snap that was way over done and practically burnt. Didn't bother complaining as we were late for another engagement.
I recieved the bill and my wife's main course was not on the bill. However, in any restaurant I have had a problem like this before, there has been some token gesture made as an appology. Here we got nothing!! Restaurant Manager was very defensive and even a bit agressive. We were told we would get our drinks gratis but when I went to pay our bill the following morning, the receptionist had been informed to charge us full price and that she could do nothing about it and that if I wanted to complain then I had to e mail the manager!!! Not the way to treat a customer when there had been a problem caused by the hotel. In fact if that is how guests are treated in the Highland Capital, then it makes me ashamed to be a Highlander.
In the morning at breakfast, after ordering, had to wait 40 minutes to be served breakfast. Short staffed perhaps!!
Not impressed in slightest.

Room Tip: I would go elsewhere, especially if looking for a restaurant. There are many excellent hotels and re...
