A lovely house, just a 5 minute walk from the Center. A perfect spot to explore Inverness or the highlands, especially with the owners ex-Highland guide experience!
Nothing is too much trouble for Atherstone b&b, and I was greatly refuelled by my stay, particularly by the delicious breakfast!

Hi Andrew,

Thank you so much for your very kind review.
Sorry we have been a bit slow to come on here and say so, but we appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review.
We are so glad you enjoyed the breakfast and felt rested enough to carry on with your exploring and hikiing!
Maybe we will see you when you are north again.

Best wishes and thanks again,

Ally & Ruth

We stayed for two night's at Ruth&Ally's lovely Bed and Breakfast and felt to be in absolutely good hands. Ally had some great recommendations for dinner, drinks (oh, we might have had one too many...) and places to visit. And Ruth gave us some homemade chocolate fudge which was the best we've ever tasted! The breakfast was great, we had everything one could ask for.

Thanks a lot to you two for the great stay at your house!
Julia & Alex

P.S.: We did stay at the B&B at Royal Terrace in Edinburgh, it was as beautiful as the pictures suggested. It was very close to the center and coincidentally just around the corner where we had to drop off our rental car. Perfect!! Thanks a lot for that tip!

We stayed here just for a night while on a 4day tour, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Ally & Ruth gave us a warm welcome into their home - it was very cosy and homely, did not feel like we were away from home. Our room was no.4, a bit small but the en-suite very much accommodated for it. We were pretty tired by the time we checked in and wanted to order a takeaway and eat in our room, but were told that we could only eat in the downstairs lounge and not in our room, which we thought was a bit strange. So we ended up walking up to the town (5-7mins walk) for dinner. After we returned, I appreciated Ruth for helping me with the hot water bottle late that night as I had sprained my ankle and the hot water bottle helped my ankle heal a bit before the next day's touring! The only thing I wish was better was their breakfast offering, milk + cereal + fruit juices and yoghurt was on offer along with a choice of cooked breakfast - which we found alright, but could be better quality for the price. But this is just a small thing, all in all we had a good stay!

Hi there!

Thank you so much for your kind recommendation! We are glad you enjoyed your stay, we certainly enjoyed having you.
I hope your ankle got better so you could enjoy the rest of your Scottish trip. It was certainly no problem to help you out with a wee hot water bottle.
We are surprised and sorry you found it a bit strange that we preferred you not to eat a takeaway in your room. The reason why, is that we have had to replace numerous duvet covers and a carpet, due to food stains. Which are accidents and obviously all part of opening our home to guests, but as a small business, we have to do what we can to look after what we have, which I am sure you can understand. However, our priority IS our guests! This is why we have a lounge for your use.
Regarding your breakfast, we are always open to constructive criticism, so would have welcomed any suggestions for what else you would have liked to see on the breakfast menu, and any requests, we are happy to try to accommodate.
Maybe if you are in the Highlands and stay again, we can make it up to you!

Thank you again for your kind words, and for taking the time to review us.

Best wishes,

Ally & Ruth

Our family of four came to this lovely B&B on a tour in late December 2012 and had no idea what to expect. We found ourselves welcomed into what felt more like a home than a hotel, and one where the hosts set out only to please. The rooms were modern, clean and light, welcome on a dour evening. Ally and Ruth offered help with restaurants and with setting up the much appreciated wifi access. We had an easy walk to town and had dinner, returning to a good night's sleep. Breakfast was generous and Ally was happy to talk and share advice (which proved useful) about Edinburgh, our next destination. A really good experience.

Hi Anita,

thank you so much for the very kind review.

We know how important nice accomodation is at anytime, but especially on a cold winters evening in Scotland, so we are glad you enjoyed your stay and felt at home. That is one of the biggest compliments we can be given.
We are glad you enjoyed a good sleep and breakfast and had an all-round good experience with us.
Hopefully you had a good journey down to Edinburgh and you had a great time there too.

So, thanks again, we hope to see you in Inverness again sometime.

Best wishes,

Ally & Ruth

A warm welcome from Ruth & Ally, comfy beds & en suite in all rooms, a superb breakfast - all the ingredients are there for a super stay very close to the centre of Inverness. Add in all the good restaurants, pubs and other attractions in walking distance and you have a winning combination for a great stay!

Room Tip: All 4 rooms are spot on.
