“An excellent Guest House - as near to perfect as you will get!”
Reviewed 25 May 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights in May and agreed with the comments of the previous reviewer.
This is a guest house with excellent standards of service which are difficult to find these days.
Everything was perfect - the room was large and spotless, breakfast was teriffic with plenty to eat and we were offered veggie sausages - a nice touch!
Morag was the epitome of a friendly and efficient host and made us feel very welcome.
Places to eat are a 10min walk away.
We cant think of anything to complain about - it was that good!!

Do the main steam hotels really provide better value? On the evidence of staying twice at the Ballifeary Guest House I would say most certainly not!

I've stayed twice whilst on business and the welcome has been friendly. The house is spotless and the rooms spacious and comfortable, with free wi-fi as well. There is also a reading room at the front which is a nice touch (although admitedly I have never had the time to use it). The breakfast is fantastic and sets you up for the day.

Location is excellent as well being a 10-15 min walk from the city centre, with the theatre and a nice selection of bars and restaurants situated nearer and along the river.

Room Tip: There is one room to the ground floor which admittedly is the same as the floor above, so no differe...

We've just enjoyed a brilliant 3 night stay here. Bill and Morag couldn't be friendlier or more helpful and they made us feel extremely welcome. The house is beautiful and our room was spotless and extremely comfortable. Great location and we loved the breakfasts too. Thank you!

We stayed here for 2 nights recently and really enjoyed it. Morag was very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the area. We were in need of a dentist while we were there and Morag looked up the local ones in Yellow Pages which was really beneficial for us and surpassed our expectations.

The house is an easy walk into town and on the flat. There are a number of good restaurants nearby.

The house had a large guest lounge with lots of information on tourist attractions and restaurants. Towels were changed daily and bottled water provided in the room.

Good choice on the menu for breakfast.

A beautifully appointed, furnished and decorated guest house in a quiet residential area just ten minutes walk from the city centre. The guest house is really well maintained with off road parking. The room was very spacious with a beatiful ensuite and everything you could want. The choice at breakfast was extensive with good portions and the food was cooked to perfection. The service provided by Bill and Morag was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing stay and I would recommend the Ballifeary to anyone.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet because of the residential setting.
