Dear Guest

Thanks ever so much for posting such a brilliant review on Trip Advisor!

We were delighted to look after you all on your special day and Jan and her team are very grateful for your kind mention. Jan says there's still two bottles of the gorgeous New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc left if you fancy visiting!

Thanks again for posting your review!

Kind regards, Della

We booked the Palace on the basis of the location in Inverness and the location cannot be faulted - on the River Ness and overlooking the castle. The entrance is grand and the public rooms are fine. The parking is very limited, but the valet service worked fine for us particularly as we didn't need to go out by car during our stay.

We didn't eat or drink there so can't comment on either.

Our room was at the back and whilst it didn't have the castle view, it looked out over the roof tops of Inverness and was pleasant enough. The room was fine, big bed, clean linen, clean decor and a good TV. The bathroom let the stay down however. It was small, and even though it had obviously recently been re-tiled, the bath side panel was loose, the toilet cistern banged against the wall and the shower curtain didn't stop water ending up on the floor. The towels and toiletries were fine, plenty of them and good quality.

The spa is very good, a decent sized pool with clean warm water, big changing rooms, and a nice low lighting level that made the pool feel intimate and relaxed.

Would we go back? Yes we would.

Dear Guest

Thank you ever so much for posting your review on Trip Advisor.

It is such a shame that the bathroom was a disappointment for you. All the bedrooms in the main building are different shapes and sizes just with the nature of the layout, this includes the bathrooms. However the bathroom should be functional no matter what size it is so I am very sorry about this.

It's great that you enjoyed the other aspects of your stay and that our location was perfect for you.

I am delighted that you would choose to stay with us again and is the highest commendation we can hope for so thank you ever so much.

Kind regards, Della

Our 2nd and by no means our last stay at the Palace and once again, a great time had by us all.

Arrived on the Friday evening to a full car park – but popped into the desk at the fitness suite and valet parking was swiftly organised. Check in was quick and friendly and our room was exactly as booked, a large river view room, big enough for our 2 year old to have his ready bed on the floor and space to play. We ordered some room service which was gorgeous and settled down for the night, but unfortunately the noise from a Xmas party on the floor below became too loud to settle our little one, so I asked to be moved. Luckily the same type of room 2 floors up was available so we moved there, where we all had a peaceful nights sleep.

Breakfast the next morning was busy but food was regularly stocked up and service great – I used to be a breakfast waitress and can remember how hectic, thankless and pernickety it can be – so thumbs up to the guys there! The haggis and black pudding deserves a special mention – yum!! Later on in the day we used the pool area, it was spotless and my little boy had a great time.

Only a couple of TINY points to mention – the drainage in the bathroom was really slow and the wireless broadband is quite bad – but I hear it’s something that’s due to be upgraded soon. The freeview reception can also be very jumpy, usually not something hugely important to us, but with a wee one you’re kinda limited to what you can do of an evening. A mini bar would have also been a nice touch to the premier rooms, although room service is available – I would have felt bad ordering diet cokes to the room, that’s just lazy!

It’s strange, we really feel like this place is beginning to feel like home, and it will always be the hotel we stay in whilst up in this neck of the woods.

Room Tip: The river view rooms are a must - you pay a little extra but it's well worth it. Room 41 is the...

Dear Guest

Thank you ever so much for posting such a brilliant review!

I am so delighted we were able to make you feel so comfortable especially with the party on the ground floor.

The fantastic comments for the entire team here are very welcome and we are really thrilled you all enjoyed yourselves for a second time.

Thank you for the points you've raised with regards to the freeview jumping and the WiFi - you are absolutely correct, we are upgrading this in the next couple of months. Also, please do not feel bad about ordering room service no matter how big or small the order, genuinely we would have been more than happy to have brought you anything you needed.

I hope you can visit us again very soon - we would love to have you all back!

Thanks again and very kind regards, Della

In room wifi is useless. For business users this is not really ok.
That aside, the hotel is very good. The shower in the bathroom is nice and hot and very powerful. The
staff are friendly and welcoming.

This hotel has a great location, in the centre, on the banks of the Ness opposite the castle. Every member of staff we met was very friendly, helpful and totally professional. The breakfast was exceptional, catering for all tastes and with plentiful supply. The decor was very nice in all areas and the room we had was very well appointed with all you needed for a pleasant stay. The pool etc. area was also very nice with good facilities and again very pleasant staff. All in all I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a central location and a hassle free stay.

Room Tip: Obviously a room facing the river would be the best, but although our room faced the side, we were o...

Firstly, the location opposite the castle and within walking distance of the the town centre is perfect. The pool too is good. So, the hotel ticks some important boxes. However, it is a real pain if you arrive by car as the parking area is really small. It is possible to park near the Cathedral though this too gets full. The staff don't make make much of an effort to help new guests in this regard. There is nothing worse on arriving to be faced with the hassle of trying to find a parking space especially given the one way system. The hotel also offers free wifi but it is so slow they may as well turn it off. At first the staff tired to make out as if it was my iPhone that was the problem. One person actually said that the system didn't work well with Apple gadgets :-). Later it came out that the hotel will be upgrading its wifi soon. If you need wifi for work etc they don't stay here. We had to go to Waterstone's in town to get recent internet. Finally, if you plan to have dinner in the hotel check first if there are any hen nights booked in. We couldn't get into the restaurant though I am not sure this was a big loss.

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor.

I am sorry we disappointed you on quite a few points during your stay.

We do understand how frustrating it can be to organise parking the car, unloading luggage, finding reception, finding your room all after a long journey. The car park is quite small, around 20 spaces and when a lot of guests arrive at the same time it can be very busy, however we do offer a free valet service where we will park your car for you in an overspill. I am really very sorry you were not looked after as soon as you arrived.

You are correct, we are upgrading the WiFi provision in the hotel with the work expected to be completed in early January. I am really sorry that this disrupted your stay so much, we do understand how important it is for our guests and we will hopefully have an excellent free service very soon.

I'm very glad you enjoyed the location of the hotel - great for access to the town centre.

Thanks again for posting your review on Trip Advisor and if you would like to discuss anything further in more depth, please contact me directly.

Kind regards, Della
