“Fantastic 3 night stay”
Reviewed 13 February 2014

We have been to Inverness a few times, but only passing through so it was a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful old hotel by the side of the River Ness. We walked from the station which is only 10-15mins away. The city is within walking distance, as are all the bars and eateries.
I could not fault the breakfast at all, plenty of choice and extra tea/coffee and toast if needed. The toast was huge thick slices of mixed white and brown, I cannot comment on the evening meals as we did not try them.
The leisure facilities were clean, the pool was a little cool, but beautiful steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. I would definatley recommend this hotel for good value and friendly staff.

Dear Guest

Thank you for posting your brilliant review on Trip Advisor.

We are all absolutely delighted that you have enjoyed your visit to us and Inverness.

Thank you for the very kind words about the team, the leisure facilities we have and the breakfasts. We order our bread from a local bakery round the corner and our Head Chef is very grateful you've given the toast we serve a mention.

I hope that if you find yourselves visiting Inverness in the future, you will choose to book with us again - we'd love to have you back.

Thanks very much for your very lovely praise.

Kind regards, Della.

My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous weekend break in Inverness. We had never visited the city before but would thoroughly recommend it. On arrival at the hotel the staff were so friendly and helpful, and that continued throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone greeted us with a smile. We stayed in a classic double room which was spacious, clean & comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The leisure suite is really good, great size pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and a well equipped gym. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, the hot food selection was fresh and well cooked. We also ate in the restaurant on one of the evenings and had a fabulous steak, well worth a visit.

Stayed here at the end of January for a weekend. Room was compact but clean and had everything that we needed. Heating temperature could be manually adjusted which was good as the room was quite small so would heat up quickly. Spa facilities were good, nice sized pool and spotlessly clean. Location is brilliant, looking onto the water and walking distance to everything nearby. We stayed here on a last minute deal so found the value for money ok but in terms of the normal pricing i have stayed in much fancier/larger rooms for the same that this hotel costs. Staff were lovely and friendly throughout stay. We didnt eat in hotel so cannot comme

Dear Guest

Thank you for writing a review about your stay with us.

I am delighted to read you enjoyed the leisure facilities in the hotel and the location we have is fantastic for everything Inverness has to offer, day or night.

The hotel bedrooms vary in size, furnishings, décor and outlook simply with the age of the building. I am delighted that you found your accommodation clean and that being in control of the heating was an advantage for you.

I do hope that if you are in Inverness in the future you will choose to book with us again.

Many thanks again for posting your review on Trip Advisor.

Kind regards, Della

We arrived early, dripping wet and clutching a carrier bag from Poundland. Despite this we were checked in swiftly and found our room to be clean and pleasantly furnished, if a little compact. The rain splattered window gave us a pleasant view of the hills behind Inverness. The views from the front areas of the hotel, the dining room and the coffee lounge were of the river and the bridge, with its multi-coloured lights.

We used the leisure facilities in the afternoon - the pool was a reasonable size and the entire area was clean and we enjoyed ear-burningly hot saunas and the toe scalding steam room.

There's a Starbucks stand in the foyer area and we sampled some while watching soggy pedestrians outside. I overlooked the unwiped table as the ambience of the setting was so lovely.

We had planned to eat out that evening, but the weather and the winelist conspired to keep us in. The food was absolutely lovely and the service was professional. There was a fireworks display at the Castle across the river from the Hotel, and this was a grand end to a marvellous night, though we did sit in the lounge for a while finishing our bottle of wine.

The bed was comfortable and there was a good selection of quality teas/coffee in the room so I could forgive the lack of shortbread.

Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and again one couldn't fault the staff or the food.

We resolved to return again before too long.

Room Tip: Our room was at the back, and was very quiet.

First impression were very impressive , Hotel is very handy for the train station about a 5 minute walk, also very handy for the town centre and all night life within walking distance , we decided as we arrived late Friday afternoon to use the hotel restaurant for our dinner as we had our grandson with us it seemed to be the logical thing to do, we were not very happy with our meals found the food to be very bland nobody at our table finished there main course ,we chose this Hotel as it had swimming facilities for our 8 year old grandson which we used on Friday night , on Saturday afternoon we decided to use this facility for a second time which was going fine till we were met by a gentleman who came into the pool area and became very abusive to a young couple because the lad had swam into an area that he was using , on seeing that our grandson was also approaching this area we moved to try and move him to a separate area but the gentleman in question made no attempt to avoid anyone he swam into myself and proceeded to abuse myself for getting in his area as he called it , on speaking to the staff on duty in the health sweet we were advised that he was a member of the health sweet and there was nothing they could do , maybe somebody in the hotel should inform him that paying guests at the Hotel have every right to use the facilities as a members does,We also informed the reception area of this incident so hopefully no other guests will have to suffer the abuse that two families had to suffer on Saturday afternoon. Other than these incidents we did enjoy our stay at the Hotel as it is very clean we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful , and the Hotel sits on a lovely position on the banks of the river ness .

Dear Guest

Thank you ever so much for posting your review on Trip Advisor.

I really must apologise for the experience you had in our leisure club. It is wholey unacceptable to have your family treated that way and it's such a shame to hear. The leisure club is open to members too and you are totally correct, a Saturday afternoon is prime time for family guests. Please be assured our General Manager and our Leisure Club Manager have investigated your instance and we are taking steps to ensure better communication with our members, guests and staff. It is a real shame that this marred your visit with us.

Also, I have informed our Head Chef about your comments with regards to the meal you had on the Friday evening. I am very sorry you did not enjoy it.

I hope that we do have the opportunity to welcome you to the hotel again. If you would like to discuss your stay in more depth, please do not hesitate in contacting me directly.

Many thanks again for posting your review on Trip Advisor and very kind regards, Della.
