Having pervious experince of working for several well known brand hotels and also having stayed in many of them and others...i decided to try an independant hotel during my stay in Inverness. I choose the Crown court hotel on basis that it only has a small number of rooms, as i felt that staying there would provide a more personal feel, rather than being treated as just a number in many larger bedroom hotels. Well, i wasn't wrong....the staff at the Crown court excelled! From checking in to checking out.....i couldn't have wished for a better stay! The room i had was spacious, tidy and clean, with all the usual facilities you'd expect, digital tv, tea and coffee, en suite bathroom with a shower bath and also, a iron provided in the room, which i felt was a good touch as most hotels i've stayed in, you have to request this at reception. I can very much recomend the cooked breakfast....especially the black pudding! Although, for those not wanting a cooked breakfast, there's a varied continental breakfast selection to choose from. The hotel bar, is shared with the public.....although due to the hotel being on the outside of town, you won't find it being over packed or filled with teenagers, so it still gives you the feeling that its still purely a hotel bar. Evening meals are a must, during my stay i had the sirlion steak, the gammon and also the fish and chips. All the meals where very well presented, the plates were warm and most importantly...the food was excellant, not forgetting large portions and good value! All the staff that i spoke too, were helpful and polite at all times. I will definately be staying here again!!

Stayed for 5 nights and there is little to complain about. Yes there was a layer of dust around the skirting board in the bath room but it was largely clean and well appointed. The shower was excellent. Breakfast was a pleasant experience and the evening meal taken was OK though the server bought the food rather than waitered. The staff however were uniformly pleasant and communication. It is ideal for visiting the town centre and easily walkable even in the rain. Beware if there is a wedding. The guests crowded the carpark, were noisy and perhaps a little obnoxious. I'll stay again is the bottom line.

The Hotel sits neatly next to the Old Edinburgh Road which rolls along to the town centre which is a ten minute walk.

On arrival i was checked in with a full explanation of meals, breakfast etc. The room was clean but was over powered by a strong smell of a plug in air freshener, which was vile. I opened the window before heading into town and on my return the smell had gone.

Checking out was effortless and the staff i met were all very friendly and were willing to assist.

Would i stay here again, probably but i would think twice before bringing the family.

As i was a solo business traveller and only staying one night the Hotel served its purpose.

Wish we had read reviews before we booked! Our room had not been cleaned properly after previous guests and toilet itself had not been touched! Room in need of a thorough clean. No change from manageress when we complained, though other staff were friendly and helpful. In our opinion this"tired" hotel does not merit a three star rating.

Arrived early, but only had a 15minute wait in the bar for the room.
Hotel on crossroads but dont let that put you off, as was not really noisy. Ample car parking.

Nice 10 minute stroll, to Castle pub, opp the Castle great pub! Further 5 minutes into main town.

Staff were friendly, Room was good, bathroom little tight if you wanted to use the basin as it was squeezed into the corner of the room between the shower. So when you used the basin, you had to push back the shower glass screen. The shower was very good.

Only went to the hotel bar one night, but friendly staff & good choice of beers.

Tea / Coffee making in rooms / even had an iron & board if required.
Breakfast was good & a good choice.

My Only negatives,
beds would be better with memory foam toppers
& we could not seem to open the window in the bathroom or bedroom!

Would stay again for sure

Guest houses in surrounding area are far superior to this 'tired' hotel. Sub standard over priced accommodation and uncaring staff . Pay attention to previous reviews before booking.

We booked 2 rooms to attend a wedding at the nearby church
Having been promised lovely front facing rooms, looking across to the church, we were surprised to be allocated rear facing rooms, one of which was small, dark, and faced a concrete wall touching distance from the window.
When we complained that this was the worst room we had been offered, the response was simply that the room had been redecorated recently and they were surprised that we did not like it. Through persistence, we were able to move to a larger lighter room, vacated grudgingly by a single staff member. Our travelling companions were allocated room 11 and had to put up with continuous noise from the extraction system, - again management were surprised that there was a problem. The smokers were just outside the window and their friends on motor cycles made for smelly/noisy/foul mouthed company,

Room Tip: Another hotel is the only chance of a good room
