The hotel is easy to finde is centrally located and has ample parking.
Very service-set peronal. Good kitchen. Low noise at rommene.Ligger in walking distance to downtown. We got good money for your currency.

I have stayed in this hotel four or five times over the last 20 years and always seen it as a treat to myself. Granted I havent stayed here for what must be 8 years or so, but I was disappointed at the lack of maintenance and the way the hotel has been left to go. We treated ourselves to a stay in one of their finer rooms.. Room 114, the bed had what looked like pallets poking out from underneath to support it.

The weather at the time was hot, so the room was warm, we had to sleep with the windows wide open,, and was surprised to find the curtains on the outside of the window did not meet by about 6 inches in the middle, but far to warm to close the windows to allow the inner curtains to be closed. This room overlooks the alluminium venting system from the kitchen so the added noise from it and the fumes, led to a very uncomfortable night.

The Bathroom door had swollen and had to be forced open and closed, the shower leaked down the bath, through the bath screen, and the rotting was an obvious eyesore. When in the shower I went to adjust the shower head and realised that the entire arm supporting it would come down, it was hardly secured into the tiles.

On arrival we were advised to use the back stairs to access our room, (this turned out to be the long route) the carpets on these stairs are all fraying at the edges. The hotel room door next to us, room 113 had the remains of a tin of paint spilt on it.

Breakfast was lovely, I have to say, but was distracting with the staff showing (trying to be discreet) photos on phones, and discussing who was being 'tagged'. Disappointed, what was a lovely hotel to me, no longer is.. I wont be back. Very over priced for what we recieved.

Friendly staff who were very helpful. I was leaving too early for breakfast so they arranged a 'take away' of sandwiches, fruit, crisps & a drink. The room was comfortable and I'd certainly think about staying here again.

Based on what I had to pay for a B&B the other side of the river and very central...this hotel is extremely good value and the location is super. Quiet, leafy and within a walking distance of the town centre.

Stayed here for one night with our dog on the way to Skye. We had a room at the back upstairs in a block of rooms. Perfectly fine room although a couple of,minor maintenance problems with faulty blind and a couple of light bulbs gone. Room was quite warm and with window open, blind didn't keep, out light but bed comfy and fluffy towels in bathroom. Very quiet. Breakfast in breakfast room at back was efficiently served. It was a hot buffet with cold cereal available.
All in all not bad for price although it is out of town and a taxi ride to get in.
Staff were lovely especially girl on reception when we checked in.

The outside and photos are beautiful-- but then we were led around back to a different building-industiral looking not pretty. Breakfast is not even served in the beautiful glass room, but in a different cafeteria room in the back. I guess that pretty glass room may be their dinner restaurant- we never even saw it.
The people who worked there were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was the standard "full Scottish". We liked that they had rooms that would sleep 5 with a cot since we travel with 3 children though this did make the suite relatively crowded--we were just sleeping there.
Our room bordered on their indoor pool and when wee first opened the door to the room it was so HOT and Humid and smelled like a pool, I was worried! But opening the outside windows fixed that problem. It would have been so nice if the sliding doors to the pool actually opened- I am sure that is some legal hazard now, because having he doors and full view but having to walk all the way around to the reception is sort of dumb. I was afraid that it would be noisy, but as far as I could tell no one used the pool.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the town. FIne for teen aged kids, probably long for smaller kids.
One of the reasons that we picked this hotel was their advertisement of "laundry service available for guests" and we wanted to wash our clothes mid trip. It may be a language thing- but the laundry service was a send out service not a washer that we could use there.
Over all I would stay there again--knowing that it is not really a pretty -quaint hotel.

Had a two night stay here and it was definitely a case of two nights too many! The hotel is in need of a good facelift and a lot of money spent on it. The staff and food are it's only saving grace, which I take it made it possible for the '3stars' that Visit Scotland have given.
The leisure facilities are a joke - when we booked in the receptionist said to let her know if we wanted to use them at least 10 minutes beforehand so she could turn the sauna/ steam room on. This we did ........the swimming pool was freezing cold and pretty scummy, we decided to use the sauna only to find she hadn't even bothered turning it on! Walking through the corridors to get to the 'leisure' area is an absolute disgrace.
Bathroom was clean as was the bed linen. Room was pretty basic and not at all worth the money paid.
Would we stay here again? No
Would I recommend this hotel? Definitely Not
