Great little hotel slap bang in the city centre, fab rooms and great food.

Review of Redcliffe Hotel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Sept 2009
The Redcliffe hotel is small but perfectly formed. The rooms are very modern, with lovely furnishings, and little extra touches like bottled water, hot chocolate and a variety of teas in the room.
The restaurant is set in a beautiful little conservatory and the food was fantastic. The restaurant was busy but service was extremely quick and I found the food to be of an extremely high standard.
The hotel has a lovely outdoor seating area which is extremely pleasant on a nice evening and there was ample, free parking. The staff were lovely and very friendly.
I would definitely choose this hotel over any of the larger chain hotels for a much more personal, friendly and excellent service.I highly recommend it.

We arrived at about six o'clock and immediately had dinner. The food was good and the service very friendly. Our rooms were in the townhouse across the road from the main hotel and it is quieter and has beautiful views over the castle and city beyond. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean, as was the rest of the hotel. We stayed three nights and spent the days touring Loch Ness, Findhorne, and Inverness itself. Except for breakfast we didn't eat at the hotel again, prefering to try new places we found on our tours. All in all a good choice if you want to stay in the city.

We booked accommodation at the Ardentorrie Guest House whch is just across the road from the Redcliffe Hotel. When we arrived we found that the Redcliffe Hotel had purchased the Ardentorrie Guest House.
We went to the reception of the hotel and were offered a room in the main hotel. Ardentorrie Guest house is now called Redcliffe Town House. If you are allocated a room in the Town House you need to cross a road (very quiet) to the main hotel for meals.
We were allocated room 8 which was quite small but was clean but rather small and only had a sky-light - no other window. We got the feeling that budget guests and one-nighters were allocated ths room as the pictures on their website seemed to show quite big rooms elsewhere in the hotel.
Breakfast was nice the following morning and the staff were pleasant and attentive.

Stayed at the Redcliffe with my husband for 2 nights between Xmas and New Year, we just wanted a relaxing few days and this is exactly what we got.

Great location right in the heart of Inverness with free parking so that was an added bonus not having to worry about the car. Our room was so comfortable, totally modernised, large, clean. Everything you want and don't always get. Shower was hard to get out off!

The staff are a credit to this hotel, very attentative. Also worth mentioning that this is a small hotel so you are not just another customer passing through the door.

We plan to go back to Inverness in the future and it's good to know where we'd stay.

One poster mentioned Room 6 being horrible. Room 7 was a nightmare also. It was a tiny, dirty single located over the kitchen. The vibration from the ktichen fan and noise continued to 10:00 pm and made sleep impossible.

I am used to small hotel rooms in the UK but in this one you could sit on the bed and work at the desk. The worst part was the drapes that hung over the bed and you as you slept. I had nightmares all night and barely slept.

I had planned to spend two nights here but checked out after one. I also would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. I found a late room at the Thistle for the same price I was paying here.
