I first discovered Craigiewood last summer on my own and it was absolutely magical. The hospitality, the food, the warm and cozy accomodation were all superb. This year I contacted Araminta and Gavin for a return trip with someone very special -- my fiance. This was our honeymoon so-to-speak. Araminta and Gavin planned a daytrip to Inverewe Gardens (Gavin was our guide), a day of hiking with her son Tommy, and helped us rent a car for four days of adventure. Simply put, Minty and Gavin continually go above and beyond and for me.. for us Craigiewood is a home away from home. Minty and Gavin are very special hosts and when I arrived this summer with my fiance, I truly felt I was returning home. Craigiewood epitomizes a peaceful and charming oasis. We enjoyed our visits with the hosts, the gardens surrounding the b&b and hiking trails nearby. We hope to return to Craigiewood again soon. Thanks Minty and Gavin for a fabulous memory.

Good beds? Absolutely! Friendly? You bet! Great house? Ab fab! Homely? If a fire in the living room, books upon books and a big kitchen with an AGA doesn't do it for you, then nothing does. Breakfast? Freshly home made scones and strong coffee - I rest my case your honour.

Craigiewood epitomizes the wonderful conception of B&B. It is everything you fantasize about when you plan your trip. A fun and friendly hostess in a big house surrounded by an oh so relaxed and yet planned British garden. My husband and I were welcomed by home made flap jacks in front of the fire in the living room as a kick off start to a stay at one of the best B&Bs we stayed in during our two week-trip around Scotland.

Don't let the distance to Inverness scare you off, but make sure you print out - and bring - the directions on the web site. Without it you will be lost, with it you will never want to leave.

My wife and I stayed at Cragiewood for two nights on a roundtrip of Scotland. We picked only B&Bs listed in the Sawday B&B guide (which I strongly recommend for holidays in the UK), this was one of them.

To make it short - a perfect place. Peaceful and tranquil, an elegant cottage in a beautiful garden designed by Gavin, fantastic breakfast prepared by Minty, extremely interesting and helpful hints, information and stories provided by both if you want to - absolutely flawless. Five out of five, no question. If you stay there I have no doubt you will agree.

Best of all, the owners know pretty much every other B&B in the country and therefore can give you a lot of guidance if you want to. Extremely interesting.

Make sure to print out their description of how to get there. With this piece of paper it is extremely easy and you can enjoy complete peacefulness at night while being only 5 minutes away from Inverness. Without it you would seriously struggle.

An excellent place.

My friend & I stayed at Craigiewood at the very end of August. For our tour of Scotland, she booked several B&Bs along our route. This was my favorite! While the house is a little off the beaten path, once you've found it, it's easy to get to, close to Inverness & all its sights, & is a relaxing place to end your day..

The room was lovely, and the hosts are great! When another B&B fell through, we considered going back for the evening, but, unfortunately, they were fully booked.

I truly felt like a family friend at this B&B, and would DEFINITELY stay here again! If you are ever in the Inverness area, this is the place to stay; it, & the hosts, are gems!

Being a novice at the whole B&B thing I was a little wary of staying in somebody else's home but Minty and Gavin made us feel welcome before we had even arrived! We received clear and helpful instructions on how to get to Craigiewood and Minty promised to help us with 'hints and tips' on what to see and do during our stay - and she delivered!

Craigiewood is a delightful house in a peaceful pretty area of the Highlands and it's also in a great location in terms of exploring the area.

The house has a lovely sitting room (for us guests) with views out on to the garden and beyond and a cosy fire. Our room was also pretty and spotlessly clean and I especially liked the little touches of a bowl of apples and magazines!

Breakfast was lovely with a wide choice of what to have and Minty was great when it came to serving our eggs 'just the way we liked em'.

I'm so pleased we stayed at Craigiewood and would very much recommend it to others. I'll be going back next year!
