“Chic hotel in Inverness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2013

Loved this ultra modern chic hotel with superbly attentive staff! The rooms are huge with every amenity including an electronic fireplace. The restaurant and bar are excellent with large selection of spirits, inventive cuisine and charming decor. Our favorite hotel of a lovely week in Scotland. HIghly recommended.

We stayed here for the first time after recommendations from friends. Upon first appearance it looks like a house however inside it was grand. We were met in the car park by the very attentive staff who greeted us and carried our bags in. They had a lovely waiting area whilst they checked us in and the room was worth every penny. The double shower was amazing and the hot tub was so good after a day exploring. Very romantic and a lovely breakfast too. Nothing seemed too much hassle for the staff.

Room Tip: Unwind and enjoy. Ask for one with a hot tub.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your positive review based on your recent stay at Rocpool Reserve.
I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that we could provide and element of romance for you and your partner. Our rooms are certainly a haven to relax in after a long day of exploring the Highlands, so I am happy to hear that you could have the pleasure of doing so and set yourself up the following day with a made to order Chez Roux breakfast.
I hope that you enjoyed the rest of your trip and that we will have the chance to welcome you back should you find yourself in Inverness again.

We stayed in the room with the hot tub and the view - which, to my surprise, I rather enjoyed!

An excellent wee hotel in Inverness that has both its own parking and a very central location - the room was VERY comfortable with a lovely bed, a huge bath (not to mention the hot tub!).

The staff were all very helpful - even the poor chap who was sent out to serve us cheese in the restaurant with a completely unsuitable knife.

The food in the restaurant, both dinner and breakfast, really was first rate as was the selection of wines.

However, the decoration of the restaurant, I think this, to be charitable is a bit "over branded" - I was a bit sick of the sight of Chez Roux logos, pictures of Albert Roux etc. - and possibly the most ghastly carpet in the history of catering.

Fantastic hotel, great staff with a bit of dodgy decorating!

My husband and I stayed here as part of our 2 week honeymoon across Great Britain. It was the best hotel of our whole trip. The staff were fantastic- without prompting, our first night they asked us if we wanted to go somewhere with good live music and gave us some wonderful suggestions with walking directions. They were also the only hotel to give us a free upgrade (although they didn't tell us, I looked it up when I saw the size of our room!)-Room 3 was incredible and huge! The restaurant was amazing, and dinner was one of the best meals of our trip. It is about a 5-10 minute walk into town which was safe even at midnight, but a steep incline with portions without a sidewalk (probably not ideal for people who might have any mobility issues).

Highly highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!!

Room Tip: Definitely recommend Room 3!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review based on your recent dining experience with us at Chez Roux.
I remember your visit well and was delighted to converse with you about your interest in Albert Roux. It was a great pleasure to hear of your positive reaction to Rocpool and Chez Roux and that it was comparable to many of the 5 Star restaurants which you and your wife had dined at in London.
I hope that one day you will visit Inverness again and we can further impress you with some more culinary delights.
Kind Regards,

We booked a weekend break at the Rocpool reserve for our anniversary sadly we were unable to get a hot tub suite however we had a lovely decadent room (no 4) located next to the bar area. The accommodation was first class. As previous reviews have indicated we were welcomed in the car park by 2 staff ready to take our luggage who even knew who we were without asking - they were very patient as we off loaded our motorbikes and before we knew it our luggage and ourselves were in our room - no tedious booking in here ! The service was impeccable, dinner was superb and breakfast lived up (and more) to its 5* rating. Cocktails in the bar were wonderful and there was a lovely lunch and evening menu which was very reasonable for a 'boutique' venue. A perfect location for the town (you can walk to the bars and restaurants within 5 mins). Everything you need is provided including a turn down service which included refreshed towels, water, homemade biscuits etc. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who suffered our wet bike gear and made us so very welcome. This is a little gem and we will certainly be back !

Room Tip: heard a little noise in room 4 in the lounge area but nothing bad. Bathroom was amazing ! Would tr...

As we arrived in the car park we were met, given a warm welcome an our luggage taken inside. Our Room (No 1) was split level with an incredible and large downstairs bathroom with double shower and freestanding bath. The bedroom was well appointed with very soft and cosy bed linens, I-pod docking, Wi-Fi, pod coffee machine, etc. The room is right by the road but it's a city hotel so you have to expect some traffic noise. We had drinks in the bar before dinner and there was a good selection and reasonably priced. Our only niggle was when my husband chose a sauvignon at £12 a glass thinking it would be good but it wasn't that great - maybe just a matter of personal taste. We relaxed in some comfy leather sofas and chose from the Albert Roux a la carte menu - mostly French country cooking with a twist - the outstanding starter has to be the Souffle - which was like a savoury ile flottant (floating soufflé in a creamy light cheese sauce with mull cheddar and gruyere cheeses. Mains included ribeye, duck, fish and desserts a chocolate fondant, rhubarb cream, a good cheeseboard. Service was was slick, friendly and professional. Breakfast choice and quality was excellent, but service a little slow - didn't matter to us as we were happy to enjoy the experience. Would definitely go back for dinner and gave it 5 stars - with probably 4.5 stars for the hotel.

Room Tip: If you can afford one of the extra decadent rooms go for it - as they look superb and higher level s...
