We spent a weekend at rocpool staying in one of the extra decadent rooms with the outside hot tub.
Rocpool being a boutique hotel has some nice touches like checking in direct at your room. Everytime we arrived at the hotel the door was opened for us. When we ordered drinks from the bar they were automatically charged to the room, they never once asked for our room number!

I had booked Room 10 for our anniversary and the room was very good and had the outside hot tub. The only disappointment was the lack of view but we can't have everything. Arrival and check in was swift and easy. We had a wander round inverness before returning to the hotel for a drink. We did have to find someone to serve us drinks but this was the only occasion we had to do this.
We had dinner in the Albert Roux restaurant at the hotel as this was included in the weekend deal we had booked. The food was excellent and tasted great. There is a nice lounge to have coffee in after dinner. which we duly did.

Breakfast was excellent and could be 3 courses if you wanted it!!! We wnet out for a run on the saturday morning and when we return the door was opened for us and the staff member had our room key in her hand for us excellent service.

Lovely experience. Xmas gift from husband so had one of the top rooms. Staff attentive - one would appear as if by magic when you went into the hallway, to the front door etc! Great view over the River Ness at dinner - we were lucky enough to get a table in the bay window. Tried for same table at breakfast on the Sunday (it was empty) but were firmly placed elsewhere - perhaps they had a 'fairness' system in place. Amazing food, if a little bit rich. Coupled with huge, beautifully cooked breakfasts made for the need to use the fantastic walkway along the river, accessible from just outside the hotel. Only complaint - I saw the tarriff by accident and gave hubby a row! Not for the faint-hearted and perhaps, in my opinion, a little overpriced for the room. Food, however, great value for the amazing quality.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at Rocpool Reserve and Chez Roux.
I am glad to see that you had enjoyed your stay with us. I shall certainly pass on your comments regarding both dinner and breakfast to Chef Roux. Some of our dishes are indeed quite rich, as the concept of the menu is based upon French Country Classic cooking. The dishes are tend to be more traditional in style.
We do have a great view of the River Ness from our restaurant. Unfortunately, our tables that are set out nearest the windows are obviously the most desirable and for this reason we do try to rotate the seating plan as much as possible. We can then offer other guests a similar dining experience.
Thank you again for your comments. I do hope to welcome you both back to Rocpool. Kind regards, Aileen Mackinnon, General Manager.

Stayed here for Valentines and this was our second stay. Each time we have been in the extra decadent rooms, this time room 10. The only slight complait this time is that early on the Sunday mornig it sounded as if the breakfast trolleys were being prepared right outside our door however thenoise didn't last too long!

That apart we cannot fault the hotel as it delivers exactly what it says, a boutique experience in excellent surroundings.

Our oom was very comfortable with our own hot tub and small suana, which we used all day! Tea and coffe making facilities in the room along with mini bar, tv and dvd player if you needed one!

The staff are very attentive without being 'in your face' and the twice we phoned for cold milk it arrived within 5 minutes.

One again we ate in the Bar which was first class, the ambiance is excellent and the food was also very good. £40 for a two course meal with a couple of drinks is by no means overpriced.

If youever want to indulge your other half then this is the place fora quiet night where you don't need to leave the confines of the hotel to have a wonderful stay.

There appears to be some remedial work ongoing at present at he front stairway however sure this is a short term issue.

Hi there,

We would just like to echo the comments of the previous posters. We had a fantastic time here and would highly recommend it to all.

We stayed in Room Four, a Decadent Room, and it was lovely. Huge bed, lovely separate living area, and the nicest bathroom we've ever seen.

The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. Nothing was too much for them, and they were always doing extra things to make our stay more enjoyable. One highlight was the restaurant they booked for us on our first night. They booked us into Abstract by the river, and it was fantastic. The food in the hotel was also excellent, especially the breakfasts.

We are already planning our return visit, hopefully later this year, to try out an Extra Decadent Room.

Just back from our one night stay to celebrate my husbands Birthday.

We stayed in room ten which is a lovely large room with a huge bed, sitting area and a gorgeous bathroom which we didn't find cold as the previous reviewer said maybe they've fixed the heated towel rail??

the best of the room in a way is the outside area with private sauna and hot tub which we enjoyed using on a freezing cold December evening.

We had cocktails in the lovely bar area before dinner at Chez Rouz, the food was lovely and the staff very attentive. Dont make the same mistake I did though, on ordering the fab apple tart I asked If it came with ice cream the waiter said it came with a cream so i asked for ice cream. the dessert came, the apple pie with the cream in a jug and a second dessert of ice cream my husband thought it was hilarious and its definately the most expensive dessert I've ever had at £6 each LOL ( worth it though )

Breakfast was very good with a good choice and a fabulous veiw of the snow covered hills

All in all we had a great time and hope to visit again one day, thanks to all of the staff :)

It is great to see that you had a good time at Rocpool Reserve and Chez Roux. It is amazing how good the hot tubs are, even in the winter and the views over the hills with the snow certainly made it feel more like Christmas. I hope you had a safe journey home and a good Christmas and New Year. Kind regards, Kerry watson, General Manager

My fiance and I travelled up to Inverness especially to try out the RocPool Reserve.
On arrival a member of satff appeared as if from nowhere to open the door of the hotel and welcome us in, this actually became a bit of a theme, whenver we a member of staff was required they always appeared at just the right moment.
We had arrived early and had some lunch in the bar. Food was fantastic and by the time we had finished our room was ready for us still much earlier than quoted check in time .
We had room 10 which was lovely and has french doors opening onto a secluded private courtyard with a Hot tub and a sauna. This was amazing it was freezing as you could imagine in Inverness in December but with the tub at a lovely 40 degrees it was a joy to use.
We decided to order room service from the a la carte menu and were stunned with the table delivered to our room as if it had been lifted straight from the restuarant.
This was without a doubt great service we loved having our own personal dining experience.
Breakfast in the morning was delightfull .
Your staff are a credit to you the service was impeccable.
I would however like to make two small points.
The bathroom is cold in room 10 the heated towel radiator doesnt reallly heat up the large bathroom.
Also the tv is too low for reclining on the super comfy bed and watching it. Have you considered wall mounting it with a swivel bracket?
This place is fantastic and would have got 5 stars for the rooms but for the cold bathroom and low telly
