A house with a history! Loved staying where the Scottish writer once lived. Great location within easy walking distance to the river and parks, restaurants of every description, music venues . . . All in the heart of Inverness.

The accommodations focused on one thing: comfort! The quiet neighborhood made sleeping a pleasure and the breakfast menu and pots of coffee a cheery welcome every morning.

Loved every moment there!

We had originally booked to stay for three nights, but, due to unforeseeable circumstances, we phoned two days before we were due with a request for an extra night beforehand. The hosts said that they could accommodate us. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and put into a larger and more expensive room at no extra charge. The room was very clean and comfortable, and had a very spacious bathroom. Our hosts were very good with advice for a number of different questions and provided all the brochures that a traveler might need. Breakfast was a joy. Not only was there an excellent choice, but variations were done on request. This B&B is ideally situated in a quiet street and only a short walk to the town centre. If you are thinking of traveling to Inverness, then this is the place to stay.

Our large family group (10 brothers/sisters/spouses) couldn't have been more graciously and comfortably accommodated than we were at the charming and perfectly located Moyness House. We were there for 5 days, reserving all their rooms, and the level of personal service and thoughtful hospitality never wavered.

There is plenty of parking in their private driveway; however the loction is perfect for walking easily to fine restaurants, laundromat, shops, strolls along the lovely river vistas and lively musical venues in the evenings. The rooms were of varying sizes but all were immaculately maintained and equipped with comfortable beds, quality bedding, very large flat-screen TVs, adequate storage, makings for tea and coffee and good lighting. The bathrooms provided every amenity imaginable, even including heated towel racks, ear plugs and fluffy bathrobes (usually only found in luxury hotels). A lovely and spacious guests' sitting room was our place to gather for games, reading, cocktails or making plans for our next outing. Many B&B's do not provide this type of space.

The breakfasts were cooked to individual order each day and were served in the bright and airy dining room with lovely porcelain tableware and fresh flowers furnishing the tables. I have never experienced such a wide variety of choices at any B&B in all our years of travel, and Jenny's fresh fruit melange was a universal favorite. We were encouraged to order as much as we wanted of anything on the menu, and Richard served it all with great flair, while Jenny performed miracles in the kitchen. When we had early morning tours which departed prior to the breakfast hour, we found "breakfast baskets" outside our bedroom doors, packed with fresh fruit and a variety of pastries.

The main element that insures none of us would stay anywhere else in Inverness was the warm hospitality and thoughtfulness with which we were treated. In my opinion, Moyness House sets the standard by which other guest houses should be judged.

Room Tip: We had the Neil Gunn room on the second floor, the largest one with a huge bathroom. It was suprem...

Our stay at Moyness House was perfect beginning to end. The accommodations are absolutely lovely, the owners are spot on helpful (sent out clothes out for us to be laundered and got them back in time for us to leave -- our poor planning left this to last minute), breakfast was delicious, we got lots of help orienting to Inverness and great tips on what to do when we go back, and the location is convenient for walking into town.

Lovely people, beautifully appointed rooms, great food (they even packed us up a travel breakfast as we had to leave early on our check out day to catch our train for our next destination), outstanding service. We can't wait to go back! One of our very favorite places and we stayed many places as we traveled England, Scotland and across to Ireland.

My family and I spent 5 lovely nights in Inverness, Scotland, at the Moyness House. The hosts, Richard and Jenny, knew just how to welcome and make comfortable, the guests in their lovely bed and breakfast. The rooms were beautifully decorated with modern bathroom facilities and comfortable beds. The day room was spacious and comfortable for spending time with family. Richard and Jenny were always available for whatever the guests needed and gave great advice and information regarding places of interest to visit. The highlight of the house was the wonderful breakfast menu and delicious food served every morning. The Moyness House was within a short walk to the Ness River and restaurants. I'm so glad we researched thoroughly and found this little gem to make discovering the highlands an even better experience.

Room Tip: The Neil Gunn Room is the most spacious suite, but all the rooms are quite nice. The street is not n...

Met by Jenny and given all the information that we needed including making bookings for us if we wished for recommended restaurants . Room medium size with a small but very functional and well thought out en suite.
Great breakfast , nothing to fault it at all.

I have been staying regularly with Richard and Jenny for about three years. This is far and away the best accommodation I stay in (and I am away on business in th UK and Europe a couple of times a month). Richard and Jenny thought of everything, I find all of the comforts of home in this wonderful B&B. Breakfast is relaxed with everything prepared freshly to order from a wide and varied menu. I find Richard and Jenny hospitable, friendly, completely customer-focussed and flexible. I have found them extremely willing to accommodate my schedule and I am always offered breakfast if I have to leave before the dining room is open. If you want to stay somewhere that the owners go then extra mile then stay at Moyness House (but please leave a for me) necessity has dictated that I use other venues on a couple of recent trips to Invneness and I shall be more than happy be back in the haven that is Moyness House.
