At every turn they are pinching pennies! Tiny double bed, noisy uninsulated room, sick-splattered lightshade, dirty floors, dirty stained carpets, unemptied bins and despite saying Free Wifi there is (in this day and age) no wifi in the room!

Hotel booked through business but was travelling with my wife, the room was very small with tiny window at ceiling level very difficult to open. There was a constant loud noise from the extraction fans from the kitchen which ran until after 10pm and restarted at 7am. Standard of bar food was acceptable as was the service. Perhaps we were just unlucky with the room but on that basis would probably not return or recommend.

Room Tip: Do not accept room 12

Booked in here as area full.
Single night was expensive in comparison to the Holiday Inn Express/ Premier Inn room charges. Their rooms are so much better than this place as well.

Staff in reception, bar and mostly at breakfast were brilliant and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful and a relaxing table service experience that went part way to make the hotel a good choice.
But.....
Room was dated and decor was tatty. Stains, marked walls, poorly maintained taps, lack of hair dryer and tatty old furniture did nothing to recoup the cost of the room in comparison to other providers.
For my money I'd recommend you stay else where until they spend and upgrade the hotel rooms.
Come on... Less profit more investment ...

Booked this hotel as it was the only one available at the time. At £165 for B&B I was hopeful of something special, but not really it was merely supply & demand which had pushed the price up. The room was small and very stuffy, breakfast was poor and not that hot. Ample parking and a good location. But didn't quite hit the spot.

The Beaufort Hotel was our staging post for public transport travel to and from Inverness. The hotel is full of character and has done its best to accommodate customers with reduced mobility. It is possible to gain step free entry to the hotel and staff are helpful and attentive to a wheelchair user's needs. Our accommodation had a wet room - the only negative comment being that the toilet was quite low and did not have a hand rail.
Accessibility from the train and bus stations is uphill and difficult for the manual wheelchair user and carer (pusher!). We decided to use the Shopmobility facility located in the East Gate Shopping Centre which had been recommended by www.shopmobilitylochaber.org.uk (Fort William - our previous staging post). It is possible to book/hire a powered mobility buggy to negotiate the hills out of the city centre for which there is a small charge. For a wheelchair user (and their carer) this is a helpful bonus - well done Shopmobility! The hotel accommodated the buggy overnight in their conference room which gave us more space in the bedroom.
The buffet breakfast was excellent with polite and friendly staff. Breakfast is cooked to order and it is possible to have porridge and kippers! Dinner is excellent with a good choice of locally sourced food which may be eaten in the restaurant or as a bar meal. Staff booked a taxi to take us to the train station and were very helpful and friendly. We would recommend this hotel for travel within the Highland area.

We appreciated the parking facilities, as well as the location (very near the centre). We had a meal in the hotel's restaurant which was nice and not too pricy. Our room was quite old-fashioned and we were very amused at the stairs, corridors, fire doors, small steps and bends needed to get to our room. The absence of wifi in the room was not very practical for us and for the price they ask, we feel they might make the necessary investment to offer this to clients.

We have recently returned from touring the Highlands and stayed at the Beaufort Hotel towards the last few days of our trip. It's a beautiful hotel and the staff were really friendly,we had dinner in the bar and the food was really good ,place has a lovely atmosphere and its great location, about 5/10 mins walking distance into town. The hotel Manager Graham was so friendly and nothing was any bother, a real personal touch to this Hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others, We would definitely stay there again.
