“Warm Welcome!”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

After a long drive through somewhat dreary weather (fog/rain/sleet) we appreciated the warm welcome at Dunahllin House from our host Sandy. The room was very comfortable and very clean. We were encouraged to make use of the sitting area reserved for guests and to amuse ourselves with books from the hosts' extensive collection. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and prepared on time and delivered with a smile! It was fun to chat with Sandy and Margaret about some of our mutual interests including sailing and hiking. The water temperature in the shower in our room (#3) was hard to control - it may need a bit of work.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are so glad you enjoyed your short stay with us at Dunhallin. Sadly at the moment the weather is no better than when you were here. Fingers crossed for a good summer. You were right about the shower, our apologies . Sandy has now replaced it with a new one.
Many thanks
Sandy and Margaret

After finding the usual hotels that I stay in when I visit the Highlands fully booked, I decided to try a couple of B&B's, which is a sector of the market that I have very little experience of. So back to the trusty old Trip Advisor to see if I could find a couple of gems.

My first observation about staying in B&B's (as opposed to hotels) is that it is much more about the couple that run the house and how much they genuinely care about what they offer, both in the house / amenities and the people themselves. So it is well deserved that owners Margaret and Sandy are obviously succeeding in running a B&B where people enjoy staying and want to come back for another visit.

A quick tour shows separate shared dining and living areas for their guests, whilst the room in which I stayed was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and the en-suite of excellent quality and stocked with everything a person needs when staying away from home. Free wifi is also provided.

Breakfast would put many a top class hotel to shame, with a variety of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals and a great traditional Scottish cooked breakfast.

Places like this deserve to succeed as businesses and I would recommend that anyone running a B&B that isn't doing so well to spend a night in Dunhallin House. Faultless is not an over-exaggeration. I for one would certainly return on my next trip to this great part of the world.

What a nice place - the landlady, Margaret, is very welcoming and cooks a terrific breakfast (including real coffee). The rooms are comfortable, beds excellent. Really cannot fault the place at all. The only possible drawback is that it is some way out of town but otherwise just about perfect

Fantastic place to stay. We were made to feel very welcome and the owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. Lovely huge room with loads of storage space and it was immaculate. We stayed for the evening before the Inverness half marathon and it was lovely and peaceful, giving us the chance for much needed sleep! Breakfast was great - we will definitely be back if we ever need to stay in Inverness again.

My Fiance & I spent a night at Dunhallin House on a recent Weekend Break to Inverness. Our experience and impression was fantastic, and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending this Guest House to anyone.
We were made VERY welcome upon arrival by the Owners, Margaret & Sandy. Our Room was spotlessly clean & very comfortable. The En-Suite Shower Room / Toilet was amazing, and all-in-all we felt very 'at home' for the amount of time we spent there.
Our 'Dunhallin Highlander Breakfast' was brilliant, it was just a pity that we were only staying for One Night on this occasion.
A very impressive Guesthouse, with very friendly Owners who go that extra mile to feel guests feel welcome. We will very happily return here!. Thank you.

I have experienced a great stay here in Inverness. I had a stop over and needed a stay near the Raigmore Hospital and trhe centre of Inverness. Lots of parking offroad and you are a few miles and minures from the middle of the town. The place is immaculately clean, spacious room with well appointed ensuite with shower. These people make a real effort with the little extras in the room and supplied first rate toiletries. Breakfast was first class and very tasty with Actimel and many options on top. The smiling and ever friendly Margaret made sure our stay was as good as it gets. Nobody could be disappointed here; I will be back!
