“Great guest house and great hosts!”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

We spent 2 nights at Avalon guest house on the 13th and 14th of feb, on arrival Bradley greeted us and was very pleasant on giving us all the info we needed.
We had a superior room with a huge king bed which was so comfortable, the room was very spacious and very clean with all the amenities you needed including a fridge which came in handy to chill the wine.
Downstairs also had a lounge area which included a tv, hifi, laptop with a wide selection of DVD's and music to choose from. Free wifi came in handy the code was on the desk in the room for instant access.
Breakfast was fantastic, a wide choice of fruit, cereals and breakfast bars, the cooked selection was great all local fresh products (best black pudding ive tasted).
Jo and Bradley (and occasionally Branston) were great hosts and extremely helpful with a good knowledge of the area, very polite and went out of the way to help.
All in all Avalon guest is a great BB with no dissapointments, a stone throw from the river ness and just a short drive up the road to loch ness.

The Avalon Guest House is a Bed and Breakfast in Inverness providing high quality four star accommodation near to Loch Ness and other attraction around the highlands of Scotland.

My partner and I stayed at the Avalon for three nights and were impressed by the warm hospitality by the hosts, Jo, Bradley both of which were very helpful in pointing out the local attractions and offering advise on where to eat and drink in the city.

The guest house is spacious and very welcoming with a large guest lounge and fully equipped breakfast room which are only a few steps away from all of the guest rooms.

Each morning breakfasts start with fresh fruit juices, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad and yoghurt's before Jo takes your order for a full cooked selection of sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and black pudding. One thing to note here is that the black pudding is to die for, I going to stick my neck out and say it is the best I have ever tasted! (I should of asked what brand it is, damn) Tea, coffee and toast is also available and Jo will keep it coming so long as you want it.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for your stay. Tea and coffee making facilities, TV with built in DVD player, hear dryer with an en-suite bathroom with a large shower, towels, bath robes (request required) and lovely fluffy white towels and complimentary toiletries.

The Avalon feels like home from home which is a rarity these days. You are given a key to the side door which gives you the freedom to come and go as you please.

Overall a fantastic place to stay. Keep up the good work both and Jo, all the best on your charity walk/clime of Ben Nevis and Macho Picchu, I'm so jealous!

Room Tip: Room 4, found at the rear of the building over looking the car park.

My husband and I had a driving trip in Scotland back in Sept, 2010. Searching online for a nice B&B in Inverness and many good recommendations prompted me to book this all time number 1 B&B - Avalon Guest House! Excellent location as it's only 5min drive to city centre. Avalon provides parking space at front door which is really convenient! Managed by a couple Jo & Bradley from London. They had enough of city life and decided to move up here few years ago. This house reminded me of those Japanese family owned guest houses - very detail oriented, customer driven type of service! Two thumbs up!

There's a cozy living room, guests can enjoy watching DVDs with options of classic or latest movies on their own. Guest room - nicely decorated, very clean and neat - you can hardly find a stint or dust anywhere in the room. Simply amazing...

We had no clues where to dine but Jo actually gathered and consolidated some feedbacks from guests after eating at various restaurants in the city and put everything nicely in a booklet and shared with us, very helpful indeed!

If I ever go Inverness again, I will pick no other choice but Avalon!

We stayed here last year, it was absolutely amazing! We did a lot of research before we went, and were tempted to book into a hotel, but were advised to give this place a shot, best decision of the whole trip! The place was friendly, warm and comfortable. We stayed in the purple room and loved it! The place is quiet and there was a seperate staircase to our room which meant we could come and go as we pleased and were never bothered by other guests. The owners were friendly and welcoming, they were very helpful and willing to advise us on where to eat/go for drinks etc. Will definitely be returning, hopefully soon!! Thank you Avalon for a wonderful weekend!

Room Tip: Go for the purple room!

We received a very warm welcome from Jo and Bradley. The hotel was first class, very clean, comfortable and went that extra mile in customer serviceThe bedroom was spacious and the bed was so comfortable..Our breakfast was lovely and the choice was excellent.everything was just perfect. Its location is wonderful with easy access to Inverness city.Unfortunatley due to a bereavement we had to return to Inverness, and Bradley was able to accomodate us and family members at short notice. We cant thank them enough for all their help.Love this place and will return for a leisure break later in year.

We stayed two nights and were impressed by the value. Very friendly hosts, delicious breakfasts and a very clean and comfortable bedroom. The location makes for an easy walk to downtown as well as a great base for touring the highlands. We definitely rate the Avalon as top notch.
