This cottage is the perfect place to arrive at after any long drive. It was nice to be shown around for a change, with Elizabeth helping to settle us in. The cottage is charming, with beautiful views and little extras that really made it like visiting a friend - fresh eggs from the farm's chickens, milk, shower gel etc.
The location is ideal too; remote enough to feel hidden away but close and easily accessed from both the A9 and A82 so you can get out and visit all those incredibly scenic places.
Highly recommend and would certainly visit again.
The place was very clean and the people were very helpful but, there is no mention of having to get out of your vehicle to open and close two sheep gates when to come in over leave each time. The inside is very old fashion like grandma place.
There is no window covings in the kitchen or on the front door? This to us was a very big problem even though we were in the country side.
The house has all you could need, it is very clean and spacious. The beds are comfy and the kitchen well equipped. The outer space is big enough to eat out and park plenty cars.
We were welcomed and shown around right away.
Its not far at all from Inverness and local shops but still in stunning countryside.
From the time we arrived, and were meet by the owner, we were made so welcome. Cottage was very clean and homely. The views from every window were to die for!!!! Saw lots of wildlife, including a deer! Central to where we wanted to visit. We were given permission to walk up to the trout lake, which again, is very beautiful, and the quiet, has to be felt!
Would we stay here again, yes,
Thank you for having us.
Well..... It's difficult to find the words to describe how much we enjoyed staying at Balnabodach. A beautiful cottage on a Highland farm, where you are met by the lovely couple Liz and Bob. A warmer welcome I can not recall. Farm fresh eggs and some other welcome supplies are offered and a very warm, welcoming cottage is found. Being surrounded by farmland and it's inhabitants makes for an ideal place to enjoy some well earned peace and quite. . We were entertained by a beautiful male pheasant who we dubbed Fergus. We loved watching him patrol his territory each morning and evening.
The cottage is only 10 min from an Asda Superstore with anything and everything you would want. Whilst it is a little off the the beaten track and your sat nav may have issues locating it, the directions Liz provided were easy to follow. Overall you are only 15 min from the centre of Inverness and an easy, scenic drive away from Loch Ness.
A wonderful place to base yourself whilst exploring the beautiful Scottish Highlands. We can only give it a 5 star rating but I think it deserves a 10.
The house is so welcoming and sweet. It's so like being at home. Everything is there that you need. The rural setting is gorgeous with the sheep around the cottage. Liz was absolutely charming and lovely to talk with. It's within easy distance to Inverness and we even made a two day trek to Orkney from here. Thanks Liz we had a really cosy stay in your sweet house.
Absolutely awesome could wish for a nicer place ....LIZ was lovely too.
Lambing season was going on while we was there and my daughter loved the whole experience.. scenery is to die for with the hillsides and forest behind us and to top it off a Loch as well... loved to go back soon
