Visited Number 27 for Dinner last week with a friend. It was busy as usual but we got a table after only waiting a few minutes. Should have booked! as it can get really busy. New tasty dishes on the menu, especially the spicy Chicken Salad. My friend had a Steak and said that it was the tastiest steak she'd had in a while. Great choice on the menu as ever!
Staff excellent as ever! Will be back soon. Thank you.

We stumbled across Number 27 without doing any research. The special of the day on 2 June 2013 was roasted pork shoulder. We're carnivores and love pork. Our meal was fantastic. Service was speedy but not rushed. The roasted pork shoulder was perfectly cooked and served in a divine gravy. The standard sides included broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, boiled new potatoes and roasted potatoes. The boiled potatoes were naturally creamy and the pan roasted ones were crispy and rich in the pork gravy. We had some cask ale and left happy.

Had Jamaican sweet potato cakes and steak and ale pie with a couple of pints of stout. The staff was friendly and helpful to us and our small children despite us not making reservations. The kitchen did have a window into the dining room which I believe led to a little extra heat. Slightly uncomfortable but not so much as to lead me to not recommend it for a good meal

This place is great, the food was excellent, good quality pub, with plenty of variety. Between us we had beff olives stuffed with haggis, Cajun chicken, Cullen skink and Caesar salad. All excellent. The service was efficient and friendly and there is a lively bar atmosphere.

When we arrived, not booked, they every effort to us in, really recommend this place

Thank Stephen B
