“Brilliant pub food and atmosphere”
Reviewed 19 March 2013

Exactly what we were looking for on a Saturday evening - quality pub food in a spacious but atmospheric pub. All our party enjoyed the Wild Boar and Chorizo burgers and my hot chocolate brownie was perfection - perfect texture and lovely ice cream. Service was friendly and helpful

“Need to try harder for Vegetarians and Vegans...”
Reviewed 16 March 2013

Five of us enjoyed a cosy evening near the fire this week. Overall it gives the impression of an English country pub which is fine, for England. This restaurant is positioned at the eastern gateway to the Scottish Highland capital, handy for Aberdeen and Airport traffic. The food was good although the portions might seem a bit controlled for a hearty eater. I had the beetroot strudel mostly because I did not trust the 3-cheese pie to be 100% vegetarian. My friend was unable to finish her's. I think the pastry was heavy going. I still felt hungry after my main course so had a more generous fruit crumble for dessert. Both were good. The waitress was friendly. The maitre d'hotel tripped around efficiently too and made us welcome.

“Good Value Meal to suit every taste”
Reviewed 15 March 2013

Seemed very popular with locals, busy Saturday night but service was good. Bar staff were more like 'bar staff' from a local pub not the over trained too polite career bar staff found in Weatherspoons etc

“Dry”
Reviewed 14 March 2013

The Snow Goose is a pleasant enough building. It acts as a handy venue for guests at the nearby Holiday Inn and Travelodge, a fact confirmed by the number of tables taken up by one occupant. The menus are fairly large with specials on a board. and once weekly menu events such as pie night.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the service was good

Now for the food, oh dear. I had a special as a main course but when served it looked as though it had been under a heat lamp for at least an hour, all very dry and the pastry was tough. Looking across at my colleagues plates they didn't look much better. I can only assume that rather than fresh cook dishes some popular ones are cooked and kept warm. Even the plate of 'fresh' breads we ordered whilst we sorted out what to choose was dry, another food victim of the heat lamp? It's a shame as the food isn't cheap. It's well presented and the venue is potentially good with the likes of a real log fire and not too many covers
Had it not been a business meal that was being paid for I would have complained at the time. I don't think I'll be back in a hurry
