“We would go back again, and again”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

We had two short nights at Torlinnhe and two amazing breakfasts. Andy and Sue were so friendly and helpful. I love Andy's dry sense of humor. They were very accommodating about our stay, especially when I had to change our dates. And so very helpful with our trip planning, from advice on booking the Jacobite Steam train to places to eat. The raspberry cranachan is wonderful and when my sister-in-law, Ellen, requested no eggs, no bacon, just toast and salmon, she was cheerfully obliged. They have the absolutely BEST brown bread in Scotland. Ellen never found another as good! We talked about Torlinnhe the whole trip, comparing every B&B to them. We would highly recommend staying with Sue and Andy in Ft. William

And we would love to see you again and again ElizabethHS! Thank you so much for your very generous review. Andy's humour is a bit like Marmite - you either like it or you don't! Luckily he hasn't upset anyone we know of - yet! So glad we were able to help with your planning - I am sure it can be pretty stressful trying to organise things from the other side of the Atlantic. It is a relief you enjoyed your stay. B&B is what we do, so it is important to us that our guests feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible during their stay.

Stayed here for 3 days and had a great time. Andy and Sue were really friendly and helpful. We were greeted with tea and coffee and lot's of biscuits plus we were provided with lots of information about what to do. Breakfast was amazing with a lot of variety. Rooms were lovely, clean and modern. Will be staying here again.

We look forward to your next visit Lindsey A. Thanks for posting your review. Don't forget there is loads more to do on Scotland's West Coast and in particular in and around Fort William "The Outdoor Capital of the UK". It's great to stay a few days and also mix a little rest and relaxation into the active itinerary if you can. That's where the coffee and biscuits in front of our huge picture window overlooking the Loch come in of course! Don't forget the lounge is always open so come rain or shine, you'll always be comfortable and dry at Torlinnhe. Hope to see you again soon.

One of the B&B which line the road leading to Fort William, but it stands out for the owners' hospitality. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the raspberry cranachan. We stayed 3 nights in the room at the side of the house, overlooking the road and loch. Attractions are within easy driving distance and restaurant recommendations are provided by the hosts.

Thank you thongszeying for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us during your time on the West Coast of Scotland. Great to hear you liked our Breakfast Cranachan. Many guests find it makes a refreshing change from a full Scottish Breakfast every morning of a long trip around the country - of course it is only an option and the full Scottish is always available if you prefer! We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Fort William, meantime enjoy your travels.

We had a great stay. Andy and Sue were so kind to us after our mechanical difficulties. The rooms are clean and the bathroom was wonderful. The breakfasts were a delight. The Greek yoghurt and raspberries were so refreshing and the full Scottish breakfast was cooked to perfection. I would recommend this guesthouse to anyone staying in the area.

Hope your car got sorted in the end AlexInShenzhen! That was two very frustrating days you must have had! Glad we could help take the edge off it a little by making you comfortable and starting your days off with a good breakfast. After all, it is what we are here for! Hopefully you will make it back to Fort William again another time when you can truly relax and enjoy all that the area has to offer. Maybe we will see you then?

Fantastic experience, Andy & Sue were wonderful hosts. I am not sure that I have ever felt so welcome at any accommodation before, with wonderfully comfortable beds and a breakfast to die for (especially the fresh berries)! View of the loch out the front was lovely and I am looking forward to returning next year!

Thank you so much for your generous review dgrbleu2. We are so pleased you felt relaxed in our home. It is great to hear that you found the beds comfortable and enjoyed the breakfasts but please, making the supreme sacrifice for a Torlinnhe breakfast might just be a little extreme :-) We hope to see you again next year!

All the accolades from previous reviews are well and truly deserved. Andy and Sue are the most gracious of hosts and their breakfasts are to die for. We spent 2 nights with them and were sorry to leave. Like a previous reviewer we found Torlinnhe on Tripadvisor. This B&B has to be one of the best or the best in Fort William. Clean, modern comfortable rooms with ensuite shower. Lovely soft towels and expensive toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities and of course the welcoming but unobtrusive Andy and Sue. Wish we were still there.
Whilst in Fort William the Jacobite steam train is a fascinating experience. Not to be missed.

We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us at Torlinnhe GlasgowCatLovers and thank you for taking the time to post your review. It is great to hear that you were not disappointed by your stay in Fort William. Good also to know that you found the journey to Mallaig on the Jacobite worthwhile. It certainly is a major attraction - especially when the weather is kind! Lots of other things for you to do next time you are in the area though - so hope to see you again soon!

My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon in Scotland, with just about 2 days spent up in Fort William and the Western Highlands. We discovered Torlinnhe Guest House through TripAdvisor and just stayed one night, but it was excellent and we can't wait to go back.

The guest house is owned by a Andy and Sue, a really sweet English couple who have now been living in Scotland for ~20 years and running this guest house for the last 5. Stepping into the place is like stepping into a kind friend's house. It is clean and homey, with comfortably-decorated rooms and a common room on the first floor for lounging or enjoying a full Scottish breakfast in the mornings.

Andy and Sue really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable without being overly friendly or involved in your holiday plans. But if you have questions, they are a wealth of information and can point you in the right direction for exploring the UK's outdoor capitol. We learned quite a bit about the local area from our conversations with them, and Sue even went out of her way to drive us to the look out point to actually see Ben Nevis before our departure (we didn't have a car, and the walk to High Street is doable but just a bit long).

We would highly recommend Torlinnhe and found it to be a gem of an accommodation and experience. We also went during low season, so were able to enjoy Fort William in a leisurely way.

Thank you Emily G for posting your review. Hopefully you have now settled into a blissful married life in Boston and everything is going well for you both. We hope you will make it back to Fort William, "The Outdoor Capital of the UK" soon. One night is really not enough to get a true feel for all the area has to offer. Apart from which, it would be lovely to see you again one day! It is such a relief to hear that you enjoyed your time with us - we wouldn't want to have been responsible for ruining your honeymoon :-).
