Andy welcomed us, showed us our room, which unfortunately now has a view of construction of a house going up next door, but the view from the breakfast room downstairs is breathtaking. Looks right out on the loch. They have all the local restaurants' menus to look at and we decided to eat at Crannog on the Pier and Andy made us reservations and then drove us there! Our room had a comfy king bed and a small but very nice en suite. Breakfast was a big buffet of fruits and cereals and pastries, and then whatever you ordered the night before. We had salmon eggs which were delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer. Really cozy place with super friendly hosts.

Room Tip: Our room (oops - can't remember the number) had a comfy king bed, but the view is now of constru...

Thank you ppw for taking the time to write your review. We must admit that we were rather disconcerted to see that you felt that your experience only warranted four blobs for value, sleep quality and cleanliness as well as only four for location! We hope that our limitations did not spoil your stay in Fort William too much. We pride ourselves on exceptional levels of cleanliness, our high quality beds were new this year and we try to provide the best possible value we can to all of our guests throughout the year. There is unfortunately nothing we can do about the construction temporarily occurring next door and we can only apologise if it caused you any difficulty. The builders have been very considerate and only work during daylight hours – which are currently about 8am-6pm. We had hoped the work would not really affect our guests as during those hours they are normally at breakfast and watching the views from our panoramic lounge window or out and about enjoying all that the Outdoor Capital has to offer. Building is likely to continue through the winter but should hopefully be complete very early in the new year. Your room was room B on our online booking system. Room C is on the same side of the house. Both rooms have oblique views across the land next door to the loch and the mountains beyond but we have never claimed that any of our bedrooms (except our front facing triple room) have great views of the loch. Our guest lounge is however a different matter and has superb views across the water to Stronchreggan Glen on the other side. Time spent in our comfy sofa and chairs at the lounge window is regularly rewarded by sightings of Porpoise, Otters, Seals, bird life and of course the boats sailing by on their way to and from the Caledonian Canal.

After spending a day driving through the pouring rain, we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by Sue who offered us a very welcome cup of tea as we dried out and warmed up. Spotlessly clean rooms and pleasant communal room, great breakfast, and friendly hosts make this a great place to stay in the Fort William area.

Sorry about the weather Gayle F - it is one of things we have never succeeded in controlling, despite Sue's best efforts. Glad we were able to warm you up though! Thank you for taking the time to post such a positive review, we really do appreciate it. Hopefully we will see you again one day if you make it back to Scotland in the future. We promise it doesn't always rain :-)

It is great to hear you enjoyed your stay at Torlinnhe Patricia M. Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Sue was watching a Dolphin at play in the loch from that very same bedroom window just a few days ago! We shared a picture of the Dolphin taken from the Souter's Lass (local Loch sightseeing boat) on our Facebook page. It has been in the loch a couple of weeks now so I guess it will be moving on soon. Never mind, there are always the Seals, Otters and Porpoise to watch instead :-).

We were greeted by Sue who immediately made us feel very welcome. Our three singled bedded family room was very nicely decorated and pefect for three adults. The en-suite shower room was very nicely done and was spotlessly clean, as was the whole of the guest house. Nothing was skimpted on. Good qualilty food was used even down to the biscuits in the room. The breakfast was excellent. I particularly liked the fresh fruit and the Cranachan. The cooked food was delicious too.
The owners Andy and Sue were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They had even prepared suggested tours of the area which were very helpful. They know the area and places very well. The location was beautiful. situated on the edge of the Loch about a mile outside Fort William and the Glen Nevis area was stunning. It was a perfect base to explore the area.
We thoroughly recommend this Guest House. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Thank you so much for your recommendation tracey r. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It is good to hear that the car tours we prepared were useful. There is so much to see and so many places to go we hoped the tours would help you enjoy a day or three touring around without missing too much that you might want to see. We had great fun putting them together as well so it sounds as if it was a win win! Hope to see you again soon!

Andy and due are excellent hosts. I can't eat dairy foods or wheat, and they had soy milk for me and wheat and gluten free bread. The breakfast buffet was filled with the freshest fruits I've ever had. The eggs and salmon scramble was to die for. The view from the breakfast room\ sitting room was stunning, overlooking the loch. Our room was well appointed and comfortable.

Glad you were comfortable and that you enjoyed your Torlinnhe breakfasts JordieBelle. Thanks for taking time out from your sightseeing to post the review so quickly. Much appreciated! Hope you enjoy Applecross as much as we did. Oh, did I mention the high pass? Quite an experience that isn't it? Safe journey, hope the weather holds for you during the rest of your time in Scotland. It has been fantastic here today!

Lovely warm welcome from Sue with offer of tea and cakes. Room was large, comfortable, modern and well fitted, ditto the shower room.
The guesthouse overlooks the loch with fantastic views from the visitor lounge and dining room. Apparently you can see otters, dolphins and sometimes porpoises from the window; owners kindly leave binoculars for guests to use. Sue is a mine of information and has many suggestions for trips and visits.
The guesthouse is about one mile south of Fort William and the owners will run you in before 7.30pm. There are plenty of restaurants and bars but you might need a taxi back, depends how much you like walking and what the weather is like! For a small charge you can bring a takeaway to eat in the dining room (before 8.30pm as they have to get the room ready for breakfast). They will even supply wine glasses.

Breakfast was super, so much choice it was difficult to choose.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Torlinnhe, it's one of the best that we have stayed in.

Great to hear you enjoyed your stay and found everything to be as you would hope KentMargaret. Sue spotted dolphins jumping yesterday, an amazing sight whilst sitting drinking coffee in the guest lounge (yep, we sneak in there to take advantage of the huge window ourselves when there is nobody around in the mornings!). Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review. Hopefully we will see you again one day?

We stayed for 2 nights whilst exploring around Fort William. Our room was a comfortable standard and the overall place was nicely kept. The place itself is located on the main drive into Fort William along the main B&B strip. You will need to taxi or drive to the main fort William town area, which is true of all the b&b's in the area. On arrival we were offered a cup of tea and lots of info on what to do in the area. Andy and Sue went above and beyond to help us out on a couple of occasions which was really appreciated. The view in The living room is great, our room faced the block next door. I also liked the support which Andy and Sue are giving to trail builders in the area too, to help develop the region. Recommended for a comfortable place to stay whilst getting into all the action around Fort William.

Thank you for taking time to post your review Ginger_Ninja_888. Great "handle" by the way! We have supported Friends of Nevis since we opened and just handed them another £367 from our collection box. That makes over £3,000 of generous donations by our guests towards the cost of looking after Glen Nevis and the path up the Ben. More than 100,000 people a year head to the summit of the UK's highest mountain so it needs all the care and attention we can lavish on it! It would require a bit less attention if only everybody would take their rubbish down with then instead of some people leaving it on the top for others to collect! Look forward to seeing you again one day.
