This B&B was ideally situated, close enough to the town centre but away from any noise.
It was the cleanest B&B we have ever stayed in, it was quite obvious the owners had pride in their home.
We were made to feel welcome on our arrival.
Breakfast was a good choise, chosen the night before, and very well presented.
The view from the window of the loch was magnificent.
The bed was comfortable. There were a selection of DVD's to watch.

I think to run a B&B you need to have a certain quality about you, namely that you enjoy sharing your property with other people. This owner certainly did not! We arrived rather weary after a lovely but long day sightseeing, and were given a seemingly-endless 'briefing' on the property. "You will be locked out at midnight"...how about "We have a curfew of midnight so if you could kindly be in before this time that would be much appreciated"?! "There are a number of restaurants in town including a couple of Chinese and Indian takeaways, but do not bring these back to the house as you will be eating it outside"...perhaps "We kindly ask that you do not bring food back to your rooms, thank you" would have been better?! Breakfast is served between 7:30 and 8:30 only, and you have to specify an exact time the night before - we do not usually lie-in much after 8:30, but is this not ridiculously early?! I don't think it is unreasonable to rise around half 8, 9 and expect a breakfast, we have paid for it after all. Then a knock on the door at 9:59am (even if you were staying for more than 1 night you were asked to vacate your room by 10am!) rudely stating, "It's 10am". Thank you, I can see that from the large alarm clock we have on the bedside table, that actually runs 10 minutes fast thank you very much. It really felt like the owner/s just wanted you in and out as quickly as possible, oh but thanks for your money. A fairly decent accommodation completely let down by the owners, who made us feel very unwelcome.

I was not at all impressed with our room. We had two single beds (what we had requested) and the matresses were awful. You could feel the springs. The sheets were scratchy and the room was not at all plush. Every other B & B we stayed in Scotland was much nicer for the same or less money. The shower was lukewarm and dripped. The carpet in the bathroom had a large stain. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but maybe the rooms with larger beds are better, I don't know. I felt like I was staying in my grandmother's guest room with no luxuries. The eggs and toast were fine but the coffee was awful.

This is a very clean b&b and they are certainly very houseproud, as this is also their home (which I know is usually the case with b&bs). Our rooms were facing the loch and we couldn't really fault the view. Our bed was fine but our friends' had a plastic covering on the mattress for some reason and this was a bit noisy and not so comfortable to sleep on. The walls are a little thin and when the man in the next room was on his phone we could hear most of his conversation. Luckily this was early on in the evening and he was quiet at bedtime. The ensuite shower room was adequate. The breakfast was lovely.
One final note. The website suggests that the house is in the middle of nowhere. It's not. It's in a quiet cul-de-sac off the A82, just a short walk from Fort William. It is still in a great location, and there is no trafffic noise at all, but not isolated as the pics on the website would suggest.
On the whole it was a nice place to stay.

  • Liked — It was spotlessly clean and had a fab view
  • Disliked — thin walls
