I did a couple of nights Helpxing here (working 5 hours a day for free accommodation) and it was fantastic. Thoroughly recommend you try it if you can get a spot! The atmosphere there was very chilled, sometimes a fire in the backyard. The gardens are well up kept (by me) and it is in a very accessible location. Good wifi. Most nights a group of people will organize themselves and head out to town, but just as many people will stay and relax. Kelsey is the bomb, so helpful and knows a great many facts about anything classified as historical. Miss you!! :)

Great small homely charming hostel with good vibes! From the Ft William bus station it's about a 10min walk (with my backpack) to the hostel. It's located on the same street as many other much more expensive B&Bs, so you enjoy the same amenities nearby. High St, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets are 5-10mins away. Ben Nevis is a 15-20min walk away, and there are many walks you could go on from the hostel itself, which was really good for me. The warm receptionists are teeming with information on the area (and other parts of highlands too) having been based there for a while and are always more than happy to share it if you have any questions. Most times when there's a fire pit going on in the outdoor patio, it makes for a good place to chill with other guests and friendly hostel staff (usually there's music too!), find partners to go on adventures with and watch the sun go down... If not, the dining room is great and cosy too. The showers are the best I've found after months of traveling - so so important after a tiring day of walking! The hostel was really clean, and the kitchen was clean too unless there were some messy guests. The beds were alright, two pillows! I would recommend the hostel to anyone.

This hostel was great. The staff were very friendly and inclusive, one night we all stayed up playing parlour games. The hostel itself is only 20 minutes walk from the train station and it's about 5 minutes to get to the trail for cow hill (nice little walk, with astonishing views). It's also very conveniently located for getting to Ben Nevis. I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: All the rooms were nice and the area is dead quiet at all times. no worries whichever room you pick.

Totaly forgot to make a review from this place !
Went there like two years ago but I still want to go back there one day.
People at the desk are helpfull and carefull.
Rooms are kinda basic just there are no lockers, but its kinda friendly in there so I had no trouble at all.
Common kitchen and the living room makes this place like a second home if you stay there for a few days =)
Close to city center and Ben Navis path.

Hi There!

Congratulations on your 3 peak journey! I hope it was fulfilling!

Sometimes we get a lot of traffic to the toilets unfortunately, though we try to make sure that everyone gets clean and tidy showers and toilets!
We've changed the wifi recently and its a lot faster now!

Thanks for taking the time to review and we hope to get to continue adventuring up north again!

Best Wishes

Friendly young staff who are more than happy to help. Very relaxed atmosphere, small self catering kitchen, enough fridges for food. Close to the high street with places to drink and food shops. Nice mix of people there.

This hostel is pretty similar to the rest of this chain.
The good:
- Free milk, chocolate, coffee and tea
- You can stay for free if you work a couple of hours per day
- Surprisingly charming chilling / reading areas
- Really nice staff
- The general mood is really cozy and student-like

The bad:
- Pretty crappy wifi (only works well in the kitchen, oddly)
- Not the most clean showers (not that bad either)
- People sometimes forget to close the bathroom doors, and I walked into a couple of naked men. Which wasnt that bad, considering :3

Hello there!

Thanks for staying with us and we're glad you took the time to review.

The wifi has since been replaced/fixed, so it works well in the dinning room, kitchen and Skype room. And we've taken your comments regarding the showers into account and into our cleaning scheduled and staff make regular efforts to address all cleaning issues brought to them.

Hope that you had a lovely stay in bonnie Scotland!

Best Wishes
