This place is an absolute gem. We felt instantly at home here with the warm welcome from Aileen and Paul into their humble beautiful B&B. Braeside house meaning "hillside" has a view to die for. We stayed in the large front room with the view right out to the loch and mountains, which you even get sitting in the sun room at breakfast. You will not find better hosts, Aileen was more than happy to drop us off in the morning to climb Ben Nevis, their sincere and friendly nature made our stay in Fort William un forgettable. We cant wait to come back!

Alieen and Paul are one of a kind. Loved staying here the view is spectacular. With just a short walk to town and the most amazing breakfast in the morning "free range eggs I saw the pack in the recycling bin" I would recommend to anyone And definitely be back again!!!

We stayed for 2 nights to climb Ben Nevis. Had such a brilliant time, extremely comfortable, clean and lovely room...A wonderfully welcoming and friendly place. Superb breakfast, magical views.
Also, the best sandwiches we ever had at the Ben Nevis summit (made by Aileen especially for us!!!).
Thank you so so much.
Kate and Max!

Arrived tired after finishing the WHW to a wonderful welcome. The other reviews say it all. The rooms our well appointed and spotlessly clean. The twin room at the back is a little small for 2 adults with luggage, but fine for a night. The double room in the front is much more spacious. Paul was very helpful in suggesting somewhere to eat in the town, and told us about the quick route via the steps. Breakfast in the conservatory was excellent, with fresh baked buns and pancakes on offer in addition to the usual cooked full Scottish. Normally the owners will take you to the station, but unfortunately they couldn't the morning we were there. However they gave us advice about local taxis, and looked after our luggage until we were ready to leave. Aileen came out and insisted on taking photos for us before we left - a thoughtful touch. Thank you both for a lovely end to our holiday.

“Arrive as a guest, leave as a friend” is an often-heard cliché but it sums up Braeside House. No-one will welcome than you more warmly than Aileen and Paul, so you feel like you are just staying with family. They look after you generously, for example giving us a lift to Nevis Range as they were passing nearby, and have lots of tips on places to eat or visit.

Braeside House, as its name suggests, is on a steep hill – an easy walk down into town but about £4 for a taxi if you don’t feel like the climb back up. You’ll hear only birdsong in this peaceful area.

Breakfast is served in the conservatory with a magnificent view over the loch to the Ardgour mountains. As well as cereals and porridge, there’s fruit salad, pastries, and a choice of full Scottish breakfast, salmon with scrambled eggs, or pancakes.

The three rooms are on the small side but are comfortable and spotless with everything you need.

We’ve now stayed twice with Paul and Aileen and hope to do so again. Thank you both so much.

Room Tip: The one at the front has the great view.
