Stayed at distillery cottages three times now, sorry to say since it has changed hands, things have nosed dived. The last time we stayed here, Sept 2012, we decided to cut our three night stay to just the one night. We were in cottage one and could hear the water pipe from cottage two every time someone flushed their toilet, sounded like someone was learning to play a trumpet. It didn`t look like the place had been cleaned in ages, thick dust, dog hairs on the sofa, scum and hairs in the bathroom. We couldn`t even close the little freezer door within the fridge due to it not having been defrosted and having a large build up of ice. Having told the owner about our intentions, he moved us to cottage three and did not charge for our first night, sorry, but we have no plans on staying there again. Very dissapointed......

Great wee cottage close to the town centre and also to Glen Nevis. We stayed in No 2 for two nights, the cottage is small but has everything you need for a short break. It was spotlessly clean, cosy and great value for money. Downstairs is one room with kitchen/dining area & pull out bed; upstairs one bedroom with a double and a single bed plus a shower room. Only negative is that the shower is not very powerful, but that is just a minor point really. Dog friendly. Would definitely go back.

Stayed at this cottage 23 March 2013 for 3 nights, got a deal on 3 nights for the price of 2 so we paid £120.Worth the money.Just went to get away for a wee break.Stayed in cottage 1and it was very clean and nice and cosy.No hasle you just arrive and get the key from the key box and when leaving you just return the key in the keybox. There are numbers for you to call if you need fresh bedding or extra towels as i read a couple of reviews and they said they had no clean linen but you just need to call the number. We went walking and although it was snowing(yes heavy snow in March) its just so lovely and peaceful and relaxing. My husband has used these cottages several times as he does a lot of walking and we've always been happy with the cottages. They have been decorated since we were last there and they are very cosy. When you are in cottage 1 you can sit and look out the window and Ben Nevis is right in front of you. Also it is only a 10 min walk into town and there are plenty of shops for the ladies to visit.

Room Tip: Have stayed in cottage 1,2 and 3 and they are all very similar.

We stayed in Cottage 1 for two nights at the end of February along with our two dogs (I had previously enquired if dogs were allowed) as we had planned a weekends walking. The location of the cottages is ideal for Ben Nevis & Glen Nevis & is also only a ten minute walk from the town centre. We found the rooms inside to be clean & comfortable. The bedroom was a decent size & had a double & single bed in it. The only complaint my missus had was there wasn't a mirror in it so she could do her hair (not an issue for me as it's been over thirty years since I had any!) The shower room & toilet were spotless & the shower cubicle was of a suitable size to allow us a hot shower in the morning & after the days walking & we're both over 6 foot tall. The living area & kitchen were spot on with the kitchen offering everything we needed & the living area again was comfortable, warm & clean. I'd fully recommend a stay here to anyone needing a decent base to explore this stunning part of The Highlands & hopefully we'll get another chance sometime later in the year to come back to Distillery Cottages.

Stayed in the cottages last night, fantastic value for money, clean, tidy and cosy. I will definitely stay again planning on booking for in for June. Despite the cold weather outside there is enough heating to keep you warm and toastie. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone, thanks for the welcome and a perfect stay!

We turned up at Fort William on a Saturday night and found these cottages just near the foot of Ben Nevis. We called the number and were given access to a key that let us into the cottage. It was quick and easy which was what we were looking for. We were pleasantly surprised at the cottage as the price was very cheap. It had all mod cons and the Morrisons is only 5 minute drive away to pick the essentials you need. As someone else stated, it was pretty cold outside and whilst it was warm in the cottage, it wasnt cosy warm.

Cottage was clean and beds were comfortable. There was freeview and a DVD player and comfortable seating for everyone. I would defintiely recommend for a short stay.

Stayed here for two nights at the end of October. Overall it was a good stay.

If you tried hard you could find fault but at the end of the day it was a nice cheap break so we werent expecting 5* standards.

The sofa was super comfy and felt like home from home.

Found it a bit annoying that the fridge opened away from the kitchen so you had to walk around the breakfast bar to get stuff out.

Toilets and showers clean and functional. The bed was a little too soft for me so cant say sleep quality was that good, but beds are subjective as everyone prefers their own level of firmness.

It was quite cool outside and although the heaters were on and the cottage was warm, it never really felt cozy warm.

Location was great - it is a 10-15 min walk from the town but thats no great problem. Ideally located for various leisure opportunities.

I would have no hesitation recommending this for a short break at the price we paid.
