If you are interested in quality food and attentive service, you should definitely avoid this place. As to the service: We have been waiting quite a long time only to get the menu cards, then a long time again for our order to be taken and finally drinks and food arrived in snail mode as well. Poor choice of local beers available. Food quality wasn't any better: I had an undersized slice of salmon lacking any flavor and accompanied by completely cold but overcooked vegetables. The only highlight was the Haggis we had as a starter, despite it's cold pepper sauce. It seems like the place is crowded by tourists thanks to being placed across the street from the end of the West Highland Way. Could not see any locals eating at this "restaurant". If looking for excellent food, drinks and atmosphere walk Highstreet a little further down to the Crofter, an authentic Scottish pub with fair pricing and solid quality.

We stopped in for some dinner on a Friday evening. Ordered our mains of a steak and an asparagus and feta salad. The salad was very large but a bit tasteless and I was surprised that it was served steaming hot. The steak was ok and our coffees were nice. Unfortunately I found a hair in my food, it was really tangled in and put me off ordering anything else. A shame as the staff were all very welcoming and polite and the room itself was pleasant with views out across the water.

The restaurant provides very good food with the added bonus of great views over the Loch. Attached to the bar is a deck where one can sit in the sun and watch all the activity on the Loch.

Bad service - our food took 45 mins to come.
Food ordered was 2 Cajun veg patties, fish pie and burger. They all were terrible. Veg burger was dry and so was regular burger. Fish pie was salty.
Please do not go even if this is your last resort.

My boyfriend and I walking into this restaurant thinking it was a bit too posh for us as we were wearing hiking boots and rain coats. However, the young man at the door was very polite and friendly and offered us a drink at the bar as we waited for a table to be swiftly set up for us. The menu offers brilliant dishes for vegetarians and an excellent selection of wines. The starters were a little small for their price but tasted amazing. The main courses are probably the best foot we have ever eaten so far! Th vegetarian dish I chose (a fillo parcel with mushrooms, white sauce and cheese) was outstanding. Full of flavour, a nice big porion and it looked and smelled amazing! My boyfriend opted for a venison dish which he said was also one the best dishes he has ever had. We would recommend the Ben Nevis Restaurant to all travellers and will definitely be visiting them again!
