As soon as we arrived we were greeted warmly by Frank and Susie (the dog), Frank showed us to our lodge which was modern, clean and comfortable, everything we were looking for and more... The views were absolutely stunning!
If your looking to bring a family then there is plenty to do in the area, we had 3 teenage girls with us and they never mentioned the "bored" word once.
For those couples looking for a romantic retreat, look no further...this place is an ideal romantic getaway.

Thank you for your comments on our lodges. I am glad you enjoyed your holiday with us and that the lodges met your expectations. There are numerous activities in Lochaber for all age groups, so we are pleased that "bored" was never mentioned. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the near future

Lovely location with fantastic views. The lounge was roomy and the kitchen was clean and well equipped, but.........

Having read all the positive reviews we booked this for our family holiday this year. It is indeed a lovely place and after reading all the good things folk have to say it is a shame not to rate it higher but the idea of reviews is to give honest feedback, and honestly, we were disappointed.....

When we booked we were told that the only one left was the Crathie Lodge which was an "executive lodge" and therefore rather more expensive! Although the lounge and kitchen area pretty much lived up to expectations the bedrooms and bathrooms did not......

The master bedroom had fabric covered headboards which looked a little tired & grubby, as did the carpet. The en-suite had pink mould around the base of the shower, the shower soap dish had broken off. The hand towel holder and the toilet roll holder had also broken off the walls and had been left on top of the bathroom cabinet.

The other two bedrooms were okay but very, very cramped! ....and in the shared bathroom we didn't dare use the shower over the bath as the shower screen was flimsy and looked ready to fall into the bath at the slightest touch!

The wifi was dreadful! After having double checked with Frank when we booked that the wifi was okay in the area we were then told on arrival that the drizzly weather was what was affecting the wifi that night - however throughout the whole week, regardless of sunshine or rain, the signal was intermittent and practically non-existent.

Frank was indeed a lovely man and sympathetic when we mentioned the issues, he said he would contact to owners to let them know as he was only the caretaker for that lodge......

to sum up:

The area is fantastic - This is a great location to be based at for exploring the surrounding area or for sitting in the lounge and watching the weather blow over over Ben Nevis.

If you're expecting a static caravan then it will more than meet your expectations however it is not the luxury lodge that was advertised to us......

Thank you for your review of Lochaber Lodges. I am sorry that your experience was not the same as enjoyed by all other reviewers on Tripadvisor. I have spoken with Frank re your comments on the bathrooms/bedrooms, but unfortunately you did not mention these issues to Frank during your stay. Cleanliness is paramount to our business and anything not at the required standard would have rectified immediately if we had been informed. We do not have control over the speed of WIFi within the lodges. This part of highlands does not have Fibre Optic cableling, and as such can be variable if a multitude of devices are in use at the same time. I am sorry our offering did not meet your expectations, but thank you for taking the time to add your comments

A great location in a very comfortable and well equipped lodge. We spent 2 weeks exploring the highlands and found plenty to do. There were 6 of us 4 adults and 2 children and we all had a great time. Like everyone says Frank is very helpful and always there to help or advise. The weather was very mixed sunny some times, rainy others but we always managed to get out and about every day. The time spent in the lodge was very comfortable with plenty of room for us all. Would definately recommend these lodges and area to all.

Nothing to add that hasn't already been said - good location, views, modern, staff was helpful. Would recommend that anyone stay here!!

If you're looking for a self catering option and are planning using the self catering facilities, this is a great option. Well equipped kitchen and nice to cook in!

Very happy to agree with all of the other fantastic reviews of Lochaber Lodges. We enjoyed a brilliant week there earlier this month. Lodges are well kitted and clean, location is great - beautiful setting and still lots to do locally for a family with young children. And yes, Frank is a top man, could not have been more helpful. We will have happy memories of our holiday near Fort William for many many years!!

Modern Lodge, with a very well equipped kitchen. Splendid view on the Caledonian Canal and Ben Nevis. We found beautiful wheather and could thus enjoy the terrace. The owner, Frank, was very friendly and helpful. We stayed a week and there was enough to do and experience for every day. Though we had free WIFI, the connection was poor and unstable.

Just back from another stay at Lochaber Lodges in Fort William having stayed there a couple of years ago. Once again the lodge we stayed in was excellent with tremendous views of the canal and the mountains in the background. Frank who runs the site was very helpful and made sure that we knew where everything was and wanted us to know that if we needed anything further all we had to do was ask. All in all a great location for a break in the Fort William area.
