My husband and I and a close family friend stayed two nights at Rhu Mhor in May of this year. It was the second visit for my husband and me, and it was a pleasure to return. Rhu Mhor is centrally located in Fort William, just a ten minute walk into town. Flower gardens and well established trees surround this charming, modestly priced guest house. There is ample parking. Recently, WiFi has been added to the list of amenities. Of course, the biggest assets at Rhu Mhor are the owners, Ian MacPherson and his mother, Margaret. They are warm and welcoming and both have a keen sense of humor. Ian can relate a lot of interesting stories about the area and make suggestions of interesting places to visit. Margaret is the primary cook and the gardener. She is amazing!
Our triple room was spacious, clean, and comfortably furnished. The windows opened easily and safely to allow fresh air to circulate. Fluffy towels and wash cloths were supplied. Hot water for three daily bathers was provided by a well maintained power shower.
Breakfast was delicious. The hot entrees were fresh and made-to-order. The continental option included fruit, yougurt, and a variety of cheeses. Of course, porridge and cereal were offered as well as coffee and tea and two kinds of toast. Margaret's homemade scones were perfect -- just a wee bit of sweetness.
We recommend Rhu Mhor highly for tourists/walkers who want quality at a reasonable price. This is a delightful B&B in the Highlands.
