realy nice well kept luxurios place in Fort William - go for the suites - really impressing
very godd restaurant with excellent food

Everything would have been nearly perfect if ...the managment would have been a little friendlier and would have gone the extra step what you expect in a place like this for nearly 1000 Pound a night

Have beeln to all Relais Chateaux in Scotland but this is the one which does not reflect the tipical scottish hospitality

Therefore only a "good"

p.s. try glenapp Castle which in my personal opinion is one of the best in scotland

Room Tip: we had the kings suite with beatyful views

We stayed in the queens suite, which is a huge and comfortable room. People, service and food all good. Atmosphere well balanced as the large main double height reception room really works well, with the fire plus relaxed atmosphere. Our main suprises is the ATD and style points, which surprised us for such an expensive top draw focussed hotel. Example, the main driveway front entrance is like an NCP car park! yellow and black plastic sleeping police bollards lack any style plus spoiling the crucial 1st impression! The front door mat was cheep B&Q style worn-out, which needs replacement! The ridiculous no entry sign to stop people going out the wrong way is very tacky! Then there are the cheap concrete crumbling steps down to the main garden, which suggests a complete lack of any thinking, investment or care! No night lights in the ensuite which had steps and only me go Brit lights in bathroom, no softer lighting option. So a great hotel is spoiled by lack of ATD and thinking guest needs through! At these prices, we would expect more thought and style next time please.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Inverlochy Castle, I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and that you felt relaxed during your stay with us. The reason we have the one-way system, sleeping policeman and ‘No Entry’ sign is for safety reason as our main door opens straight onto our driveway; I appreciate all your comments and have taken note.

We stayed here as a treat at the end of a six week europe and uk tour as well as our anniversary. Entering the castle is like stepping back in time. We were kindly greeted upon arrival and taken into the breathtaking main hall for a small tour of the public areas before being shown to our room where our bags were already waiting for us. The staff were eager to help and chat. We especially enjoyed chatting to our waiter, whom had spent some time living in our hometown Melbourne. The room was perfect, the service exquisite. The food is to die for. If you get a chance to try the afternoon tea it is worth every penny, as long as you don't mind spoiling your dinner as it s so huge :) thank you for a rare treat before we had to go home.

Just a few miles from Fort William, in the heart of scottish highlands, you can taste this magical experience. Surely not a cheap accomodation, but that's not exactly what you're looking for. This is a well-mantained castle with great interiors, furnitures and details. The breakfast with the lake view and the park outside walk are stunning. Surely an unforgettable experience for the eyes and the heart.

Having just stayed in a wonderful lodge the previous night, my expectations were very high for the Inverlochy Castle, especially as it was a Relais & Chateaus property. It was definitely a beautiful building, and the room was large and cozy. And having two separate bathrooms was an amazing surprise. But somehow, I was left feeling something was lacking. Pre-dinner drinks started as off on a poor note. They had a large selection of single malts in the menu but was told that my first two selections were unavailable. The waiter was also not too knowledgeable about the different distilleries. Dinner was ok. Overall, overpriced for the experience we got.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us on Trip Advisor. I am saddened to read that your experience at Inverlochy wasn’t up to the high standards we aim to achieve and I apologise for this. I am pleased to hear your comments on the castle and rooms and glad they met expectation. I have taken your comments onboard with regards to the whisky choice and with over 90 whiskys in stock to choose from we aim to have alternatives should we ever be out of stock of. I am also very saddened to read your comments regarding your dinner as we pride ourselves on the dining experience in Inverlochy Castle and apologise if you feel that you did not experience this and if this has shadowed your overall stay.

This is truly something out of a fairytale! The service is spectacular. The rooms are True royal bedding and décor. The food is cooked to perfection and the service is quite personable. The staff are very accommodating and overly attentive to your every request. The appetizers prior to dinner are extraordinary. The overall experience is something you should experience at least once in your lifetime!

We stayed at Inverlochy Castle for 2 nights, and our expectations were high given the price of the rooms and dinnner not included. The service is very poor, there is clearly no experienced staff that work there, and they do not know how to provided first class service. The housekeeping was bad, bins not emptied at nights bath mats not changed for the entire stay. It was a real disappointment, albeit the location is stunning. The hotel owners clearly do not invest in the property, the walled garden was disgraceful and as for the tennis court, give it a miss..... They could do so much better

Room Tip: Our room facing the Lake was large, albeit very dated

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us on Trip Advisor. I am saddened to read that your experience at Inverlochy weren’t up to the high standards we wish to achieve or cater for the high expectations you had for your visit and I apologize for this. I have taken your comments onboard with regards to the house keeping issues and will deal with this directly and immediately. This is not the normal practice of our turndown service so I thank you for making me aware of these issues. I am also very saddened to read your comments regarding the walled garden and tennis court. I remember our discussion fondly on the matter of how the gardeners were very much in to their seasonal transition period with in the walled garden. The kitchen garden section had also recently been excavated for a wide variety of vegetables for use along side some of the excellent produce available to us such as our Perthshire Lamb, Aberdeen Angus Beef and Wild Turbot to name a few. With regards to the tennis court, we are not blessed with an indoor facility and believe that due to the occasional adverse weather conditions experienced in the Highlands of Scotland, it would be unachievable to have a grass or clay facility so we have adopted the all weather option of a set gravel court. When we were talking, you mentioned to me the fact that there was no net in place. This is taken down in the event of high winds and bad weather. Upon the weather being suitable and guests requesting use of the court with in the Autumn and Winter months, the net is replaced promptly whilst guests are obtaining rackets, balls and taking the short delightful walk through the grounds to the court.
