I stayed with Heather and John for two nights on my solo trek through the West Highland Way. I cannot recommend this lodging enough to travelers. This was perhaps the most enjoyable at-home dining experience I have had during my trip - Heather and John have menu options that would shock the lay traveler used to neeps and tatties, haggis, and the pervasive continental breakfast (or whatever variation of the Scottish/English breakfast). Travelers like to eat well and Morvich does it right.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the amenities of the location. Even now, half a year since my visit, I distinctly recall Morvich being the first and only B&B to provide cotton swabs. The DVD library and television set also help for a bit of late night restlessness. (I caution viewers against Rob Roy starring Liam Neeson - it is cliche and lacking direction. Sort of a Braveheart without the adrenaline and glory).

The room is kept spotless and there are copious pamphlets and informational packets that should serve you well in exploring the area. The astute traveler may find that Morvich is somewhat out of the way (across town from the trail-head of the WHW, but the walk along Loch Linnhe is well worth it. Thank you very much for the stay, Heather and John - it could not have been better!

Tom

Hi TC,

Thanks for this excellent review. Sorry to read that you didn't enjoy Rob Roy and a little worried that you prefer Braveheart??? Enjoy your travels.

Heather and John are the perfect hosts.
We stayed in the large king size room for two nights. Room is very big, spotless and comfortable.
A short walk from a great little town, Heather can recommend some fantastic places.
Breakfast is fabulous.
Overall the best b&b we have ever stayed in.

Had a lovely stay over at the Morvich...Heather was sooooo lovely and couldn`t do enough for us...we felt very welcome...the room and breakfast were a very high standard and we will definately try to book again to breakup the drive on our visits to skye again.

What an amazing place! A total find!!
We stopped at the Morvich on the way back down from Skye and it was beyond expectations!! Heather greeted us at the door and brought us tea and the most amazing after eight brownie when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. The room had an amazing view of the loch and the comfiest bed with lots of lovely little touches, like DVDs in the hall to keep us entertained. Heather was genuinely interested in making it the best stay for us and had great recommendations for places to visit and eat. John made the most amazing breakfasts and cakes!!! They had lots of choices for breakfast and even had home made banana bread in the morning to round off the experience!

We will definitely be back!

Hi Caroline S, thanks for the lovely review. Glad you enjoyed the brownies, they were a first attempt at a new recipe and we could easily have eaten them all ourselves! p.s. John cooks breakfast, but I haven't managed to get him to do the baking. Yet. Heather
