my wife and I have just returned from a 6 night self drive break with lochs and glens holidays.this is our second break with lochs and glens and, all being well, it will certainly not be our last! everything at this hotel was first rate , including the staff, the food, the room, the entertainment, in fact everything was ideal.

Stayed here with lochs and glens and had a great time. The food was great, staff friendly, the head waiter was fantastic and really made our holiday ,all the staff were great except maybe one barmaid who had a got an unhelpful attitude, not very helpful or pleasant but the other two girls more then made up for this. Rooms comfortable and clean. Great location for the town, but not suitable if you have mobility issues, its a steep climb from the town. The towns got a good train service, taxis and buses.

Room Tip: Front rooms have a stunning view

Myself and my hubby have just come back from a 7 day holiday with Lochs and Glens. I cannot fault this hotel at all, the room we had was clean and airy, although a bit warm (but we did have exceptionally warm weather). The staff were helpful, the food was amazing, for breakfast you have two courses and there is plenty of choice, and for your evening evening meal there are 3 courses, again with plenty of choice. I have a wheat allergy and there was always something I could have, and if not they were very accomodating and helpful. The hotel was beautiful, all wood paneling and a fantastic staircase, the dinning room was a good size as was the entertainment room.
Our driver John, was very good and informative and had a good sense of humour. The average age of our travel companions was about 75+, my hubby and I are 41 and 44, but they were brilliant and so interesting to listen too and some were more able bodied than us most of them were up dancing the night away as there is entertainment every night. The excersions we did were good all though, there is a lot of coach travel, but the scenery is breathtaking.
The only problem we had was on the return journey when we had issues with the coach and had to get a replacement coach, this was handled brilliantly by John and Lochs and Glens, and we were given a complementary lunch for the bother.
All in all a great holiday and if you are of the younger generation I would still recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a loch view if at all possible

The Highland hotel in Fort William is a little gem.we stayed there in march for 4 days. Our room was very nice clean with shower &WC a kettle with tea coffee &hairdryer. Our room had a lovely view over the loch. The staff were great very nice and helpfull the entertainment was not bad there was something different every night quiz every night bingo singing dancing there was Highland dancers and a piper they were great. The prices at the bar were reasonable for a hotel as some hotels are over the top with prices. The food was good for what we paid there was a lot to pick from breakfast and evening meals good choice. There is lots to do we did a cruise down the loch and went to Inverness all not to far.The only thing the hotel is up a hill ok to walk if you are fit or you would need transport.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the loch

My partner and I visited this hotel over the easter period. I have to say it is a fantastic hotel full of charm, the staff are very friendly and helpful and great at their job- in fact upon arrival one of the staff members took our luggage up to our room. Think his name was James.
The location is very good, I would recommend the Wild Cat Trail, although i would say if you have bikes and if you have a car bring them- incase you want to go into Aviemore or Carrbridge. Train and bus ticket prices can mount up.
The food, in my opinion was excellent- compliments to the chef, the portions were very generous and staff promp at bringing food to the table.
The room was spottless, bed very comfortable- everything you could want for a few nights stay.

There are some negative comments about this hotel on here. DONT LISTEN! the staff in this hotel know how to treat their guests and if you want a good holiday make a visit- you wont be dissapointed!

Had seven day holiday at this hotel. Rooms very clean, staff very friendly. Hotel stands above the town and loch. Nice views. This hotel belongs to lochs and glens holidays. Like all their hotels, they are very good. No complaints about the food.haggis and kippers on the menu.

In February we had the good fortune to go to the Highland Hotel Fort William with Lochs and Glens for a week.We had Brian Nichols as our driver who was brilliant he coped extremely well with severe weather conditions [blizzard conditions on Rannoch moor] on our journey up to the hotel.Upon arrival at the hotel we were met by friendly efficient staff who showed us to our room, no 117 which is on the first floor it is a family room very spacious and clean plenty of hot water and very warm and cosy. The food was very good and the staff were excellent and helpful,I have various medical conditions which means I have special dietary needs but the hotel coped with this with no hesitation at all.The entertainment was very good and on the Tuesday and Wednesday our entertainer was Paula Macaskill she is brilliant we cannot rate her highly enough. All in all it was a brilliant holiday we are looking forward to our next Lochs and Glens holiday at the Ardgartan hotel next year it will be our 5th Lochs and Glens holiday and they have all been brilliant.

Room Tip: choose a loch view
