“Fantastic holiday”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We returned on Sunday 1st June from a fab Lochs and Glens holiday at the Highland hotel. This was our first time at that hotel and we were impressed from the moment we walked in. The staff are fantastic and hard working but at the same time very friendly. Our room was right on the front in the annexe and in fact have requested this room again when we go July 2015.

This hotel is a little gem. We have just returned from a 5 day break with Lochs and Glens. The hotel is very clean, food is great, entertainment not brilliant but we made our own entertainment as we were a party of 18!! The trips are included in the price which is excellent value for money. A river cruise to the Island of Rhum was eye opening but very enjoyable. Be prepared to do a fair bit of walking on the island but if you are not so able bodied a golf buggy will take you up to the care for £5 return. The weather was very good to us and only had one day where it was overcase and slight drizzle, not bad for Scotland!!

Our room was overlooking the Loch so a fantastic view, Room 204. Comfortable beds, tea and coffee making facilities, lashings of hot water for a bath or shower (we had both) and very large room as we were on a corner. All in all thanks Lochs and Glens for another excellent short break and looking forward to the next one.

Room Tip: We were in room 204 which was a corner Loch view. One double bed and one single.

My husband & I have just returned from our 2nd visit to the Highland Hotel. We returned to go on the 1st small island cruise that Lochs & Glens have just started. We were thrilled to be able to see Whales, Dolphins, Seals and many different birds. The scenery around was awesome and the weather was wonderful, just a couple of small showers. The trip was so well run to say it was the 1st time it had been done. The hotel can't be faulted and the staff are delightful and looked after us so well. They work very hard to maintain the high standard that Lochs & Glens provide. We also had other day trips and half day one's in with the price and the new trip to the Scottish Folk Museum was great, we could have done with a longer visit there. It was lovely to have entertainment each night and sit & chat to our friends, The town itself is very clean and well worth the 5 minute walk from the hotel. Our room & bed etc were so comfortable and the bedding was spotless and the room very big. We asked to be in the main part of the hotel this time and we were on the 3rd floor, but it was well worth the trek as it was silent up there. The food as ever was such a great choice and plenty of it, all in all superb.

Room Tip: We found there was less noise in the main Hotel and slept better.

My friend and I have just returned from a 4 night stay with Lochs and Glens at this hotel. We have been twice before but we had a new tour of some of the Islands off the coast of Scotland which was amazing. Saw whales, dolphins, seals plus lots of different birds. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff can't do enough for you. They work very hard. The food is lovely and there is entertainment every evening. Access to the town is good, it's only takes 5 minutes walk. I would reccommend this hotel and Lochs and Glens holidays to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lochside view, the view is beautiful.

this was our second trip with L and G and they are good value. the food and service were very good, unfortunately the weather wasn't and it is a very long journey. The room was spacious and clean but the bed was not that comfortable. The access to the town is reached by quite a lot of steps not easy if you're not very mobile but the taxi service is reasonable. The bar prices are cheap and a decent bottle of wine is £10 also the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: room 68 is good with a nice view of the loch

returned from another lochs and glens holiday on Thursday 15th May stayed at the highland hotel (our second time) once again we had a very good holiday, colosium coaches are spot on and make a long journey seem short, the room overlooked loch lynn and as of the rest of the hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff are excellent and the food is very good. I would recommend a lochs and glens holiday to anyone especially the highland hotel as it is nearest to the best scenery.

Room Tip: request a higher floor for the veiws.

We were part of a Lochs and Glens group from Hampshire. It was a long trip, but a combination of an excellent driver and a number of comfort stops, the trip was good.
On arrival at the hotel our baggage was dealt with efficiently, and reception made us welcome and directed us to our rooms.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and the room service was very good.
There was a good choice on the menu, and everything that I ordered was most enjoyable and an ample portion.
The staff were friendly and most helpful.
The trips were varied and most enjoyable.
I would have no hesitation in recommending trips with Lochs and Glens, especially if it means a stay at this hotel.
Thank you to all the staff for an enjoyable stay - I just wish that it had been longer!

Room Tip: I heard no complaints from anyone about their room.
