The weather was hideous - pouring down & very windy, it was a battle to get out of the car. A very worthwhile battle tho. The service was very good, the tea smoked duck starter & the salmon were both excellent. OH had soup & the burger which were also very good. I also had the cranachan which was nice. It was very quiet but it was only 5.30 when we arrived and it started to fill up as we left. Very enjoyable meal.

Stayed here after a week in various bunkhouses from the Lakes to Fort William. After the boring slog of the Ben it was lovely to be in the warm with great food served as early as 5pm. Everyone really enjoyed the meal, it was delicious. Staff were prompt and attentive.
As for the bunkhouse. Filthy, luke warm shower. Please take flip flops! Dead flies stuck to toaster, mildew in taps, blood stains in toilets. As I said, we stayed in 5 other bunkhouses so did not expect luxury but this was grim. Noisy too and the two of us on bottom bunks got bitten. I removed a toenail from by my bed which was nice.
As a pub/restaurant excellent, accommodation, try down the road in Corpach.

Room Tip: Eat but don't stay!!

We stayed for 1 night before starting our 3 peaks challenge as the location is perfect. The bunkhouse was clean and well equipped (except for a lack of mugs and glasses), the Inn has a great atmosphere, great views and great food. I had checked when we booked our accomodation and evening meal that our collie dog was welcome in the bunkhouse and was told that was fine as long as everyone else who booked was happy and if not they could put us up in a smaller room - no problem. On arrival we were then told that no dogs were allowed inside the bar/restaurant! We were forced to leave her in the car while we ate even though she had spent 9 hrs in the car already that day! We have spent many holidays in The Lakes and have never come across dogs not being allowed in bar areas and most allow them throughout the pub. We would love to be able to stay again when next visiting Scotland but feel we would not be able to if our dog was not welcome in the pub.

Before you book here, you need to realise one thing... it is a bunkhouse. Therefore, you will be sharing with other people and sleeping in bunks. Dont like that dont book!

I really enjoyed my two night stay here after climbing Ben Nevis. The beds were clean and comfortable, as were all the other facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful and their was a nice atmosphere amongst the guests. Couple of noisy people but that's normal in a hostel in my experience. Add to all that the great value and you can't go wrong.

If you're climbing Ben Nevis there is nowhere handier to get your head down after a hard day walking.

We came to the Ben Nevis Inn after completing the Three Peaks challenge....we were completely shattered after 24 hours on the go. However the staff were fantastically friendly and helpful, recommending fantastic food. I had the haggis starter and steak maincourse. My son had the burger and friends had the fish course. It was some of the best food I'd ever had. We stayed the night in the bunkhouse - excellent value and a perfect place for 20 odd people to sleep after the 3 Peaks challenge.

Chicken haggis dish was good but our other main course which was game in red wine sauce was bland and disappointing. The views however are great and staff nice and friendly.

We went here for a meal, whilst staying in local B&Bs. We were not walkers, but thought that the atmosphere of a walkers' inn would be interesting -- we weren't disappointed! There were lots of walkers who'd gone up Ben Nevis in glorious sunshine, only to be caught out by showers that turned to steady rain. We enjoyed 'people watching' and listening to their stories of their exploits on the mountain.

The menu was interesting, the food was delicious and the service excellent.

By chance we'd come here on a Tuesday evening -- this turned out to be the one night of the week when there's always live music! By 9pm a very mixed group of musicians had arrived and were ready to play. There were eight of them, and they were excellent. I asked who they were and was told that they were, "not a band, just a bunch of locals who have a bit of a session on a Tuesday". Well, I thought that they were great!
