The Innseagan House Hotel was a lovely hotel to stay at in Fort William, Scotland. It was within walking distance of Fort William and it is on Loch Linnhe, which is a beautiful lake with a lot of boat traffic to watch. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. I would definitely stay there again.

booked this hotel after purchasing a voucher. I'm certainly glad I did. Was disappointed we couldn't get a Loch view but we only booked a month in advance. The room was small and quite bare but was very comfortable and one of the cleanest rooms I have stayed in compared to even some fancy expensive hotels. My husband and I really enjoyed staying here and with the live music on our second night beside the log fire was icing on the cake. Alexandra and the rest of the staff are very friendly and the food was delicious. All homecooking I would recommend the steak pie and apple crumble. Only one small complaint the chips were not hand cut but the mashed potato was delicious and plenty of it at an excellent price. Alexandra has 2 dogs and I read a review that said they ran wild through the hotel. This is not the case they are 2 very friendly and well behaved dogs and give the hotel a homely feel. The dogs behaved far better than some people I know. The bar was well stocked and very reasonable, much cheaper than the bars in Fort William. Alexandra we wish you and the staff every success and hope we will return again. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Book well in advance for a Loch View as these rooms are a bit more spacious and better quality.

Having booked at very short notice we had two great nights at this warm, comfortable hotel. It was excellent value for money and we had a great room overlooking Loch Linnhe. We had tasty breakfasts both mornings cooked by the friendly Hungarian chef. This hotel is pet friendly and the two resident dogs Bear and Sheilagh are a joy. We had a job getting a taxi the mile or so into town having tried three separate numbers and we ended up walking which probably did us some good but wasn't so much fun on the walk back! We would definitely stay at this hotel again but take our own car into town next time.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 31 overlooking the loch and had a fabulous view of the hills beyond.

Thank you so much for your review. I am so glad you enjoyed your time. I am sorry you had a problem with the taxis. We have 1 company that we usually use and they are always on time. Quite often I would call for a taxis myself for guests so I am sorry you had trouble. George is very happy that you enjoyed your breakfast. Again thank you for your generous review

My fiance and I spent the weekend here to celebrate our engagement and to be at the launch of Ivan Drever's new band's debut album Gifts by DMY.
Not only was it a fabulous night of music and dancing but we also had the luxury of 'jammin' wi' da guys till the early hours.
A small informal hotel with two friendly dogs, breakfast was a treat of French toast with loads of fruit and maple syrup. Just right to set us up for a bracing walk in by the lochside and down at the Glen Nevis, where he proposed all over again.
By the end of the weekend, we had decided to have our wedding here too as it holds around 40 people, just right for a small intimate family gathering.
The icing on the cake, tho, it turns out that the hotelier Alexandra is a designer and dress maker so she has agreed to make the dress too and had some wonderful vintage silk to add an totally unique touch to the dress.
A lovely enduring memory.

Room Tip: For the nit-pickers among us, don't expect 4-poster beds and, if there's no sugar in the dis...

My partner and I booked a 3 day stay at the Innseagan Hotel through KGB deals during Valentines weekend and after reading some of the comments on here went with an open mind...

The welcome we got was very friendly from Alistair who showed us to our En-Suite double room which was very clean, fresh and warm, with tea and coffee making facilities and also a fantastic view onto Loch Linnhe.

We had arrived late in the day (17:30) and had missed the afternoon tea that was part of the KGB deal, we weren't really bothered about it but the manageress Alexandra (who is the nicest person you could meet) couldn't be more helpful and assured us we would receive the tea the following day, which we thought was a lovely gesture.

We dined at the Hotel on the Thursday and Friday and on both occasions the food was delicious and well presented, we had Steak Pie on the second night (the steak in the pie is locally sourced and to die for...mmmmm) she also placed two roses on our table which being Valentines weekend was a really thoughtful touch.
After our meal sitting by the roaring log fire having a drink was just the icing on the cake, with Bear and Sheila wandering in and out, made it a more relaxed environment and we felt really at home.
Bear and Sheila are Alexandras dogs who are very friendly...

Breakfast was delicious with a choice of cereals yoghurt's and full Scottish fry up, just right to set us up for the days sightseeing.

We would heartily recommend a stay at the Innseagan as the welcome and friendliness from Alexandra, Alistair and the rest of the gang was second to none. If you're looking for a home away from home with a laid back atmosphere...this is certainly the place to go.

Thank you Alexandra for a great weekend... we will be recommending your Hotel to our Family and friends if they are ever heading to Fort William, and hope to see you all again soon.

Jim and Joanne.

Room Tip: A Loch view is a must.

I and a fellow photographer stayed at the Innseagan Hotel for 3 days whilst conducting a winter photography workshop. Whilst this is not the most salubrious hotel the facilities are more than adequate for 3-stars and our twin room was clean, nicely appointed and provided exceptionally good value for the price we obtained on booking.com. We were made extremely welcome by Alexandra our host, who runs the Hotel. We planned to make very early starts, intending to arrive on Rannoch Moor well before sunrise, yet Alexandra insisted on getting up at the crack of dawn to cook a full breakfast for us .. I’ve not had that happen anywhere, and it was pretty darn good too. Unfortunately her gas cooker failed the next day so she couldn’t offer a repeat, but she really went to town putting out a fantastic continental spread instead, that even included olives and stuffed sundried tomatoes. To our amazement some other guests were quite rude when they could get a cooked breakfast, but the alternatives presented offered more than enough choice for us. Our trip unfortunately, was marred by an awful accident to my friend whilst in Glencoe and he ended up in Fort William hospital with a badly broken ankle. The Hotel staff however, were very understanding and helpful, and went out of their way to assist in the logistics allowing a late check out and another night stay if required. I really can’t fault their hospitality and wish to thank them all. The hotel has a nice lounge and a good fire was burning in the hearth every afternoon we returned; the water was always hot (even at the hour we started), and they had a good selection of whiskeys in the small bar. You can find posher hotels, with better facilities for a price, but you can’t buy hospitality like we received. What more could you want! A place I'd certainly return to.

Room Tip: Has nice views over Loch Linnhe and is not far from Fort William.

We got a voucher deal for this hotel, but if we had paid full price we would have left disapointed. Alexandra is a great host, the welcome and hospitality we received can't be faulted in any way. On Friday night we were lucky enough to witness a great jamming session with great musicians beside a roaring fire. Saturdays breakfast was good but there was a hand written note left on the reception desk advising no meals were available that night which is a great shame as we had been out all day and were looking forward to another night in by the fire. Our room wasn't serviced on the Saturday and we had to wash our own cups and go to reception to request more toilet roll. We decided on a lie in instead of breakfast on Sunday morning and despite breakfast service stopping at 10am we were invited to have breakfast when we checked out at 11am which goes above and beyond what is advertised. We wish Alexandra every success and with her hosting skills she will do well, but the other service aspects need to be looked at.

Room Tip: Ask for a loch view- it's a beautiful sight to see when you open the curtains.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry your stay was not as it should have been. Unfortunately I had had an accident and was in a&e for 4 hours in the afternoon and had decided to take the rest of the day off, so there were no meals made that night., there had been on your first night but unfortunately all guests chose to go into town. I apologise for there not being food on your second night. Also we apologise for not having a daily clean to your room but we only have 1 key to some of our rooms and as you had not left your key at reception we were unable to clean it. I had asked the locksmith twice to come and do copies of all keys. That will now be a priority. I hope you enjoyed Fort William and Lockaber and hope you would like to come again. I wish you and all guests a prosperous and happy New Year.
