“Never Again !!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

General cleanliness of the hotel was poor, hairs and bits in the bed which had obviously not been changed from the previous occupant.
I had to clean my teeth with hot water as both taps only produce hot water.
Shower was scalding hot as there was no cold water in the system.
Poor breakfast and no evening meal available, however the owners son allowed us to have a take away in the dining area. We were then critisised in the morning for using the tables.
Finally people should keep their polictical views and opinions to themselves we were offended by the blatant advertising for the Scottish Independance as English guests it did not make us feel welcome at all. I stay all over Scotland for my job and I love the Scots and the country I have never experienced this sort of thing anywhere else.

Room Tip: Keep a wide berth.....

Very clean and seems newly refurbished room with stunning views . Good breakfast and owner Alexandra cannot do enough to help you
I have read other reviews and cannot help think that with the rather long winded dam if one that they prattle on far too much with their grievances - guilty conscience maybe? -always 2 sides to a story !
Admonish in private ,praise in public. OTT by far some reviews

Have just spent 4 glorious days at the Innseagan. Alexandra and her family (including the dogs) could not of been more helpful and provided a better place to stay.
Rooms were good size for 2 ladies travelling, bathroom spacious, everything spotless, meals (including dinner) one night were sensational and made to what we wanted and needed.
This lady runs a great establishment and handles it all with a smile and dignity. She went out of her way to help us with everything we needed including Wi-Fi, laundry, welcoming cups of tea each day - wow what service

The one downfall wasn't the Innseagan it was the rude Scottish guests (6 ladies and 1 poor man) who also stayed Tuesday night - they were loud, obnoxious and uncaring about anyone else in the hotel. Welcome to Scotland.. if this is how you behave in your own country stay away from ours!!!!!

I don't know how they will review there stay but I can tell you if it wasn't for the great staff and service at the Innseagan - these other guests would of turned everyone else off the place. Thank god for Alexandra and her personality - apologising for their behaviour when it was not her fault.

I would recommend this hotel to all and will be especially recommending it to all other travellers I meet, my fellow countrymen and anyone on the internet who is willing to read this review.

Room Tip: Ask for Loch view. Wi fi worked perfectly in rooms on 1st floor

We booked into this hotel with reservations have-ing read some poor reports but as it was Easter.
It was not good...It was brilliant. We had a great laugh with the owner who is a character. She made breakfast to suit our really early starts and fixed an extra bed as my wife had decided at the last minute to come as well. She was full but could not do enough. Its not five or four star but a good three star and the view was stunning in the morning looking over the Sea Loch in front.

Cant fault it and really enjoyed it !

Room Tip: Eat out at night as there are great restaurants in the town.

We booked through booking.com 2 couples travelling to Scotland for two night stay. On arrival the first impression was that the place looks OK but it was extremely dirty and neither the bar nor the restaurant was working as we've been travelling all day wanted to have dinner but had to drive to town as we were told it was a slow season and the restaurant was closed.Nowhere it was mentioned that the restaurant would not be working.. the bar was the same story... neither stocked nor it was open.
There were no toiletries in the rooms no hand soap, no shower gel either nothing in the bathrooms...
Advertised as internet in rooms which is a complete lie as there is no signal on the second floor (internet was OK in the lobby)

If allergic to pets stay away as there are two big and lovely dogs.

We had to go into town and buy our own drinks as the bar was not working. But it doesn't end here.

The owner asked us all to pay upfront as she was going away the next day we paid and that was the last we have seen of her. The following day after we came back from dinner in town and asked the person at reception (the owner's son) to start the fireplace for us. We were told he will try which to his benefit is exactly what he did tried but as they did not have any fire starters he did not succeed into it and after 15 min of trying said he will come and check on it in a bit after which we never saw the guy.
We were meant to have breakfast the last morning on check out but surprise surprise when we woke up at around 8:30 (that was the time that we asked for breakfast the day before as we were the only people staying in) there was nobody in the whole place apart from the two dogs the place was completely deserted nor there was any breakfast for us. No one to check us out either. We waited till 11:30 at which point we had to leave as we were heading further north and we have lost the most of the morning.

After I left a somewhat an average review in booking.com the owner emailed me to apologise about that situation and suggested a refund which neither of us have really asking for. So i replied explaining what has happened and told her to go with the refund as she seemed fair. After that she messaged that she is sorry again and will process a refund of £75 which she believed was fair.
She also explained why there was no one in the morning nor breakfast and apparently we have kept her son up all night so he overslept. I have not heard a worse excuse. We have been in the lounge till 01:00 but did not make much noise and the guy was gone way before midnight saying to us he has to go into town. But anyway if all of us could have gotten up at 8:30 surely the staff could have at least make an effort to do the same till 11:30 the following morning regardless of how late we have kept him up which was not the case anyway.

Fair-enough I said thanks and thought that this will be end of it. 2 weeks later I emailed to ask if she had changed her mind as there was no refund from her. She replied after two days saying that it will be coming in this week. Today she mailed me again saying that she changed her mind and she believed that the missed breakfast would have cost us not more than £25 so she would refund that instead. Absolutely phatic service and no customer service whatsoever. I told her to keep the money as obviously she needs it more :)

We are not the type that will usually complain about little things but this was extremely poor service and you all deserve to know so you don't get into the same situation. Avoid at all cost. There is plenty of other nice BB in the area so my advise is go with any other one but this as there is no way this can happen anywhere else!!!

All in all extremely poor service and a dirty place that neither of us would ever want to visit again. Save yourself from having the same bad experience that we did and just book another BB there are plenty to chose from in the area.

We booked through booking.com and looked forward to our night's stay. On arrival the first appearance is one of needing looked after.
The owner was polite and helpful but had to get help as our door wouldn't lock.
We were assuming (as advertised) that we would be able to get our evening meal in the hotel, but no, sorry they were not doing evening meals!!
There was no toilet rolls in the bathroom and the breakfast was meagre to say the least. Only 2 cereals to choose from, no choice of juice or fruit and no written menu to choose a cooked breakfast from. Very disappointing stay.
