Just back to Bishop's College School, Quebec, Canada after a successful school trip with 5 students and 2 staff. We were with Rockhopper for 4 days of kayaking through the gorgeous waters of the Moidart/Arisaig coast and 5 days of hiking and camping in the Grey Corries-West Highlands. Our Rockhopper guides, Ben and Stuart, were awesome from start to finish and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. They made sure we had all the essentials and beyond for each leg of the trip, and that each day was safe, challenging, educational, and overloaded with the ultimate Highlands scenery and wildlife. It was obvious from start to finish that the quality of our experience was their number one priority, and along the way they took care of so many little details for us (like grabbing us some extra tents when we realized we lost our poles during travel, offering up showering facilities, figuring out transport plans with us, etc). Ben and Stuart were both exceptional with the students/staff on our trip; easy to work with, energetic and encouraging. Our group researched many outfitters in the Fort William are prior to our departure, and this lead us to teaming up with Rockhopper. They are the best there is and we wouldn’t have changed a thing! It was the trip of a lifetime.

If you're looking for a peaceful way to enjoy the water, you could do a lot worse than rent a Canadian Canoe for a half-day (£25) from RockHopper.
We paddled ours down the canal away from the pick-up point (which is located on Neptune's Staircase and is also well worth visiting). A half-day gets you 4 hours, so work on paddling around 2 hours each way, depending on the strength and direction of the wind. The banks along this part of the river/canal aren't particularly welcoming, but there are a couple of spots where you can rest and eat a picnic lunch. We didn't know it, but you're allowed to 'wild camp' on common ground in this part of Scotland, so if you're feeling really adventurous you can rent a boat for a few days and take your camping gear with you. Perhaps next time we'll try that!

Myself and 8 friends used Rockhopper for the second year running for a full day of Sea Kayaking on Saturday 28th June. The trip around the sound of Arisaig was amazing, plenty of breathtaking views and sightings of wildlife. Our tour guide Nigel was awesome, very knowledgeable, informative and just easy to get on with. He immediately helped one of our group who suffered with capsizing not once but twice. We managed to get our friend into a double kayak and his confidence from there just grew! Everyone enjoyed the trip and we now have some amazing photos and memories.

All in all this was an amazing day, well worth the money and I will definately be booking again!

We spent the morning kayaking on the Sound of Arisaig. Stuart was a great instructor and very patient. We stopped at an isolated beach for a morning snack, with only sheep for company. It was a magical way to see the area. You don't need any experience and all the gear is provided. Would definitely do it again.

We went to Arisaig with Ben our instructor. The sea was very flat and calm. Ben took us round the various islands (at our pace) stopping at little untouched beaches, with crystal clear waters and white sands. We saw the isles of Rum, Eigg, Muc and Skye. He went to areas so that we could see the wildlife such as seals and cormorants. He gave us an excellent guided tour. When we come to Scotland again, we will definitely go kayaking with Rockhoppers. A thoroughly enjoyable day (even though it was tiring).
