“Enjoyable Stay”
Reviewed 12 March 2013

Stayed overnight as part of a rail land cruise. Evening meal was OK, Breakfast was very good. Room was clean and warm, bar and lounge were good, the staff were superb, very freindly and helpful. Hotel is a short taxi ride from town, not really walkable in winter, may be OK in summer. All in all a good place for a short stay.

We stayed here on a two night "bubbly" deal, which was two nights dinner, bed and breakfast with a bottle of bubbly in the room on arrival for the usual standard bed and breakfast rate.

The hotel is about a 2min drive or 15min walk from the town centre/railway station.

Speedy check in,allocated room 19 which was in the main building at the front.Great views of the Ben over the main road from the room although some traffic noise could be heard.Quietened down during the night and then more noticeable early morning from around 6.30-7a.m onwards. If you're a light sleeper then its probably enough to waken you.The room itself had everything we required, coffee, tea facilities.hairdryer, trouser press, small tv,bathroom with toiletries and plenty of towels. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, maybe slightly in need of an update or lick of paint here and there, but thats only a small criticism.

In general, the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lady in charge of the dining area and her staff.

Breakfast is buffet style with plenty to choose from, both traditional Scottish breakfast items and continental.

Evening meal was reasonable without being stunning restaurant standard food.Included in the room price it was fine but i'd be a bit disappointed if i was paying the £20 per person price quoted on the menu.

Top marks go to the leisure club.A small gym with enough equipment to do a full varied workout.Nice sized clean swimming pool with spa pool, steam room and sauna,Towels provided when you enter so no need to carry any with you.Ideal for burning off any energy you have left from your day or just for a nice place to go relax.

Overall an enjoyable place to stay, clean and tidy with no major complaints.

Comfortable hotel, excellent service, friendly helpful staff. food was very good well presented and prompt attention from waiting staff. Leisure facilities were very good and well looked after.
Not far from town centre two minute drive, railway & bus and supermarket all close by.

Room Tip: Nice view at front but quieter at back away from main road

For the 2nd year this hotel was the base for West Bromwich Mountaineering Club's "Winter Week" up in Scotland & again the staff made us very welcome & comfortable. We were a large group of 45 -55 and had particular requirements (7am breakfasts so we could be on the hills by 8.30 and late 7.30pm evening meals to give us maximum time to 'bag' more distant summits) but the management went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Food was superb & good choice; the Spa complex soothed our aching limbs; those who didn't want to do hard walks found loads to do locally; a generous group rate made the trip feasible for some of our hard-up members. Oh and the weather was FANTASTIC (OK this wasn't fixed by the hotel !) We've come away with sun tans and will certainly be back en masse next year.

Room Tip: If you like real ale bring your own as their beer selection is pretty poor for a place this size!

Had a lovely stay, food great, staff friendly. Fantastic deal for DBB. Would definately go back. Our 8 year old enjoyed it too. Only drawback was how far outside Fort William centre it was. Great place to be based to explore.

Room Tip: We had a lovely room in annex, was worried by some other reviews but was pleasantly surprised.
