“perfect for what I needed”
Reviewed 17 February 2009

Hunting tower was an amazing place to stay and both Jackie and Chris made me feel most welcome. They shared my enthusiasm for the area and were helpful in sharing their maps to make my stay more interesting. The facilities are excellent and the atmosphere is friendly and easy. Breakfast was excellent Jackie and Chris pay particular attendtion to detail which makes a huge difference in your experience of your stay. All in all it gave me the time and space I needed and added to another fantastic memory of the area.

We have just returned from 3 nights at the Huntingtower Lodge and just had to post a review on this excellent bed and breakfast establishment.

The rooms are perfect and if anything are even better than they appear on the photographs on their website.

We have travelled extensively around the world and have stopped at some of the most luxurious hotels going and yet the rooms at Huntingtower Lodge rival those in the best hotels.

If you like extensive well cooked breakfasts then this is the place for you and eaten with the most amazing views over the loch at the foot of the drive.

We were in Fort William for our daughters wedding and once the owners discovered that fact they added nice little touches such as red roses and chocolates in the bedroom and strawberries and cream in the lounge.

Chris and Jackie, the owners, have only been there since last year but they have already set a standard that other places will rarely be able to match. They give an excellent service in nice surroundings and whilst they are attentive to your every need they are not in your face.

Give it a try as you will not be disappointed and, if we are ever again in Fort William, would not even consider staying anywhere else. Places like this are the exception and it deserves the ratings shown in the other reviews.

A warm welcome and a great stay from beginning to end. Jackie Clifford keeps an immaculate house, cooks a huge and delicious breakfast (and dinner, if you're lucky), and even gave us perfect advice in where to hike (Glen Nevis--to the waterfall and back). She was friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. It's not the cheapest of B&Bs (we paid GBP100 a night), but well worth it.

We stayed in the Ardgour room at the Huntingtower Lodge for two days in mid-October and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately Jackie was away and we were not able to meet her but Chris was the perfect host. In fact we were the only guests so it certainly was a very exclusive B&B! The accommodation certainly lived up to the descriptions on the website and, in fact , exceeded our expectations with all the 'little details' well thought out. The rooms are large, light, modern and -above all- clean. Breakfast was a real treat. Sitting in front of the window looking out at that view was feast enough but the food topped it! We were able to see all the rooms beore we left and a stay in the Waterfall suite looks an absolute 'must'. Thank you Chris for a lovely break; we will be back!

Stayed here in August for 4 nights with my Japanese partner for our base for touring the Highlands. It is a real oasis and Jackie is a caring host. I particularly appreciated her advice on driving routes and places to explore and her restaurant recommendations are spot on.

Rooms are very comfortable and if the weather turns bad you can always watch a DVD. Breakfast is very tasty and made to order. If I have a week off this is the sort of place I want to escape to.

One of the best B&B's ever!

When we passed Huntington Tower lodge, which we had pre-booked for a week later, on our way to the Isle of Skye it looked rather unimpressive. But once we entered the lodge and were enchanted by Jackie's charm, we were instanly converted and loved this place right away! This place has its price but it is certainly worth every pence.

On the plus side there are a very appealing modern interior; a bed more comfy than at home (and we have a pretty good one!);
a fantastic view from the bed and a first class breakfast to name just a few. And then off course there are Jackie and Chris, who must be the nicest and wittiest couple in Scotland (we did not meet Chris, but Jackie alone was so lovely that he must have a great husband).

And on the down side...? Well, it rained quite heavily - but hey, it's Scotland after all and we cannot say that we weren't warned :-)

We stayed here just for three nights and took the break for our wedding anniversary…in hindsight a week is really what you need to enjoy spending time in the beautiful rooms and to take in the amazing sights that Fort William and the local area behold.

After a very long 6 hour drive we arrived early evening and the lodge was exactly what we needed! (Make sure you have a camera when you pass through Glen Coe on the way) Jackie greeted us with fresh coffee, tea and homemade biscuits which we devoured in the main lounge…The views from this room are amazing!!

We were then shown to our suite (The Waterfall) which included its own sitting room with views over Loch Linne and the bedroom overlooking their very own Waterfall.
The breakfasts were very good – we recommend the Scottish Breakfast! Jackie is an excellent cook and when you sit and eat in front of the delightful view it makes it that little bit more special.

Chris and Jackie are the perfect hosts – welcoming you like old friends, yet also leaving you to your own devices providing you with local area gems of information when you want it. The place itself is gorgeous, immaculately clean and very reasonably priced – but the service that Chris and Jackie provide are what makes you want to come back again and again! It’s currently a 4 star but in our opinion it should be 5.
