“Nice Surprise”
Reviewed 18 February 2013

We visited Fort William and had the privilege of staying there. We were mesmerized by the amazing view and location of the guest house. The place was very clean and tidy and the price was very affordable.
The breakfast was also delicious and sumptuous. Will definitely recommend my friends and family for a stay at the place if they ever visit Scotland.

We spent one night in this lovely B&B on our way to the Jacobite train. Several of our party where dropped off at a different hotel before us and were not that impressed with their accomodation. We had a lovely room on the main floor with a gorgeous view of the loch. Staff was very helpful when my adaptor didn't fit and the breakfast the next morning was very nice. We had a lovely walk to a nearby restaurant and enjoyed going down by the loch's edge.
We would absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: Try and stay on the front of the hotel-the view of the loch is gorgeous.

Stayed here recently for 4 nights, the guest house has a great Loch front location and good parking, very easy to find. We booked a master suite and were really pleased with our room, immaculately clean, well decorated and had a superb en-suite that looked as if it was brand new. The room was serviced every day (which I wasn't sure we would get) and was spotless on our return each day. Breakfast was consistently good and the overall experience was one of a very relaxed atmosphere with great comfort and facilities. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Scotland, thanks Myrtle Bank!

We stayed here for 3 nights last August. Our room was comfortable and we paid extra for the view of Ben Nevis but didn't expect the busy main road too. Breakfast was ok and the hotel is nicely decorated. The B and B is just a 10 minute walk from the railway station.

Anniversary stay, looking out across the water. Perfect. Everything good quality and clean. Extremely good value for money will definitely stay again if in area. Short walk to bars and restaurants. Breakfast was very good too.

I sent one night ( would have loved to stay longer) in October 2012. After a wonderful day on the Jacobite Train, despite the snow, I arrived cold and damp at the Guest House.

I was thrilled with the owners hopitality and the twin room was magnificent. Beautifully furnished, warm and accommodating. The shower in the ensuite had fantastic pressure and lots and lots of hot water. I then settled myself under wonderfully warm bed clothes and had a beautiful sleep.

Breakfast was wonderful and available quite early. I have nothing but praise for this establishment. Value for money, luxury on a budget!

As a solo female traveller I felt safe and secure...things that are really important to me.

I would give this establishment nothing but the highest praise and will recommend to all who travel to Ft William.

It is quite clearly stated that it is cash only, sometimes a little research on this site goes a long way.

Reviewed 25 November 2012

We stopped here in late November for one night on our way north.
Many of the smaller B&B's were closed at this time.

pro:
At Myrtle Bank GH we were received warmly and shown a nice (though slightly contrastless) yellow room. The shared bathroom, as well as the bedroom, were very neat and tidy and comfortably sized.
The price was fair and included a full scottish breakfast. With some luck, we were even able to grab a seat at the window of the breakfast room and could look out over Loch Linnhe.

contra:
The only reason to deduct points was the breakfast. They offered a full scottish breakfast and a vegetarian option. The full scottish breakfast (according to my boyfriend) was alright. The vegetarian version leaves much to be desired. I had had full scottish breakfast all week and thought a healthy alternative might be nice for a change. Unfortunately, what they did was to simply strip the full scottish breakfast of all meat. Hence my breakfast was fried mushrooms, egg, potatoe scone and half a baked tomatoe...

This is just a minor point of criticism. There was still toast, juice and cereal to choose from. So all in all it was a perfectly fine stay for one night.
