“Great Place To Stay”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

A great room, amazing breakfast, awesome view of Ben Nevis and two of the most friendly and helpful hosts that you are likely to find. We would definitely recommend this place and will hopefully return soon!

Hi to you both, Thanks for writing your review it is very much appreciated and it is good to know you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope that when you look at the sunset photo taken by Iain on the evening of your decent of the Ben you will remember us and the challenge you set yourself. Good luck with the birth of your child later in the year. Let's hope we get to see you all again. Regards Glenys and Iain

Of all the places we stayed in Scotland, Glenshian Guesthouse, by far, has the best views - particularly of Ben Nevis and the Caledonian Canal. Add to that it is a great place to stay with warm and generous hosts and it just can't be beat.

We recommend it highly to all.

Thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay. Excellent facilities and a beautiful outlook over the canal from the conservatory whilst eating a lovely breakfast. Glenys and Ian were extremely helpful, even offering my sister and brother-in-law, who were moored close by, a carry out bacon roll at breakfast time.
Having stayed in the Fort William area twice previously this is definitely the best bed and breakfast accommodation I have experienced and somewhere I hope to visit again.
Many thanks, Anne Mackenzie

Room Tip: I stayed in the Fern room which overlooked the canal and had a most comfortable bed and was extremel...

We can only agree with all the other excellent reviews of Glenshian House. Glenys and Iain are charming and welcoming hosts - like a home away from home. The setting is superb, the room spotless and comfortable. Having an adjoining lounge for guest use is an added bonus. Breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the Caledonian Canal and Ben Nevis was superb - home made meusli, porridge and the best eggs, bacon etc. Off street parking and WiFi add to an excellent night's stay.. Congratulations Glenys and Iain - a superb B and B in every respect.

Can also recommend the walk along the canal to see Neptune's Staircase (the lock system) and dinner at Mooring's Hotel beside the canal - about 5 minutes walk from Glenshian House.

Glenys and Ian ( our hosts) were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble .
All in all one of the best B&B's we have stayed in.!!
Great location , right beside the Caledonian canal and views of Ben Nevis.
Exceptionally clean and modern faculties , with a spacious lounge area , exclusively for the guests.
Highly recommend.

Stayed here on 14 July on our way to walk the Great Glen. Glenys and Ian were perfect hosts and greeted us with lovely homemade shortbread and a welcome cup of tea. Their property is spotless, with comfortable bedrooms; lovely guest lounge and breakfast room looks out onto well kept garden and views of Caledonian Canal and Ben Nevis beyond. Glenys and Ian's wealth of knowledge of the area and their helpfullness is second to none.

Glenshian is everything you could hope for in a B&B. The hosts, Glenys and Iain, went out of their way to assist, inform and make sure that we had the best time possible. They not only assisted us with bookings for the Jacobite Express historical train but drove us to the station and arranged for footplate and trackside photos. The location is superb, alongside the Caledonian canal just above Neptune's Staircase with uninterrupted views of the Ben Nevis range. Good hotel meals were available within a 10 minute walk along the canal. One of the highlights was the fabulous breakfasts with quality food and multiple choices. (The fishcakes with poached eggs was amazing.) Thanks to Iain and Glenys for making our 3 night stay truly special and memorable.

Room Tip: Any room would be a good choice.
