The room was spotless and it was cosy and comfortable. You get quite a few tv channels, free wifi, tea, coffee etc and little sachets of shower gel and shampoo. The shower was easy to work, the room temperature was just right (I'm usually uncomfortably warm when staying in hotels) and the bed was very comfortable. You only get one pillow but you just have to ask if you want more - Debbie was happy to get me extra ones. Breakfast was nice - fresh fruit, cereal, toast, yoghurt, cooked breakfast, tea, coffee and juice.

I had a look through some of the other reviews and felt that I should comment on them. Basically you get what you pay for - if you want a large room with a big bathroom, fancy toiletries, a panoramic view, staff to carry your luggage and an extensive menu for food at any time fork out extra money and go to a hotel!

We arrived at Fassfern mid-afternoon in desperate need of accommodation as the B&B we booked (Craig Nevis Guesthouse -AVOID) had no booking for us even though I spoke to them the previous night...anyway, Owner of Fassfern was lovely, room was smallish but nicely done and breakfast was all fine. Would have stayed another night but we were called home. Will try again next year and keep fingers crossed for a Loch view in this beautiful building which was immaculately clean. Thanks for rescuing us! LISA and MATT...

I booked online in April for a 2 night stay in August. We arrived 8pm, owner suggested we were late! We were put in a TINY room with a view of the car park. Only one pillow on each bed, the "wardrobe" was 3 hangers on the back of the door. Only a 45 min window for breakfast and we had to share a table with others. The location is the main plus point. Fantastic view of the loch - pity we never got to look at it from our room.
Comparing to other places we stayed, I would say this was poor value for money. At least make sure you don't get room 7!! Booking so far ahead, we should have got better.

Room Tip: Not room 7.

This B&B is housed in a beautiful building with lovely front garden. The rooms are a very good sized and extremely clean. The views from the rooms were amazing and really enhanced the visit. The wifi was free and the connection very good. The accommodation was excellent, however, the bathrooms are quite small and are let down by little things like not enough towels, plastic cups and shower gel in sachets it just gave it a very budget feel an let down the luxury of the rooms.

The night's sleep was good, the rooms are quiet and the beds are comfortable. Two aspects of this B&B really let it down and are the main reason I am not giving it a higher rating, the breakfast and the unfriendliness of the owner.

There were really no options given to us with regards to breakfast other than would you like a cooked breakfast to just cereal, yogurt and toast. We weren't even given the options to choose how our eggs would be cooked, everyone got fried. The breakfast time is very limited 8:15-9am and I have to assume this is so the breakfasts could all be cooked at the same time to cause as little inconvenience as possible to the owner, but I will come to that later in more detail.

The quality of the breakfast was poor not because it was cooked badly because it was not, but because of the cheap ingredients used, especially the sausage which was inedible. It is a shame because the accommodation is SO nice and the breakfast really lets it down.

The owner was very brisk and not very welcoming when we arrived, I had the feeling we were inconveniencing her and she just wanted to get the check in process over with as quickly as possible. We had booked 2 rooms and as she showed us to them we felt very rushed as she threw the breakfast times at us and asked us if we wanted the cooked breakfast, she did not offer to help with the bags, offer a map of the area or ask us if we needed some recommendations for dinner. There was not even the customary conversation like the weather, where we had travelled from, etc.... After we settled in our room I went to ask her if she could recommend any restaurants and all she said is that there were some example menus on the table in the front hall, once again attempting to end the conversation as quickly as possible.

At breakfast we met her again but all she said was a generic good morning to the whole room and then left again. Upon leaving it was much the same efficiency with no warmth. All of these interactions jut left us with a poor impression of the B&B. I would recommend the B&B on the basis of the rooms but would recommend not bothering with breakfast and don't expect much out of the owner.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a Loch view even though it costs a few pounds more it is well worth it.

Stayed here for one night. Fass Fern is a beautiful old house set off the main road into Fort William. It is set in a lovely garden and there is plentiful parking at the back. The location was great being only a few minutes walk into the town centre.

We had a twin room which unfortunately was located at the back denying us the fantastic view of Loch Linnhe enjoyed by rooms at the front of the B&B. The room itself was small but spotlessly clean and well appointed with tea & coffee making facilities and tv. The small shower room was immaculate too.

Breakfast consisted of self service cereals, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, juice and followed by toast, tea or coffee and a cooked breakfast. This was all served promptly and well cooked despite the lovely breakfast room being busy with fellow guests. As we were on a tight schedule we also arrived a wee bit early for breakfast which is served 8.15 to 9.00, however this did not appear to phase the owners.

This is a lovely place to stay and the owners must work very hard to maintain the gardens and the high standards within the house - very impressed overall and I would certainly stay again (would like a loch view though....).

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front for a view of Loch Linnhe

The b&b is set on the main road into Fort William with views to Loch Linnhe and is a beautiful old building with lovely gardens. It's well decorated and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fab too with a choice of yoghurts, cereals, cheese, fruit etc as well as a delicious cooked breakfast. It is literally less than 5 minutes walk to the main street in Fort William which is one of the reasons I picked this b&b. Only one minor gripe - the room didn't have a view but to be honest we were out most of the day and by the time we got back it was semi darkness. I would definitely stay here again though and would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: I would ask next time if a loch view twin room is available as the view really is stunning.

we went up to Fort William for a wee night away. There were 6 of us. we were very lucky to get booked into the Fassfern guest house. It is a lovely place to stay, spotless clean. with a beautiful garden. And amazing views over to Loch Linhe. The breakfast was also lovely.. we would definetly stay here again.

Room Tip: the front rooms seem to be bigger. althoughwe were in the small room at the back it was still a plea...
