Just back from a 4 night stay at the Buccleuch where we got a lovely highland welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and with a fabulous house lovingly restored we felt like house guests. Lots of hot water and plenty of towels provided. The serve yourself options at breakfast were the best we have experienced anywhere. Obviously used to accommodating walkers as plenty of fruit, cereal bars & biscuits to take out with you for the day. We had room 2 which was adequate but not enormous and the wardrobe was a small in the wall cupboard. The great view of the loch whilst sat in bed more than made up for the wardrobe space. I've given the sleep quality 4 because I don't get on with sprung mattresses any more, I'm always glad to get back to my latex mattress but realise it is a personal thing. Ideally situated for the town and the station. We rode 'The Jacobite' to Mallaig and back which was the main reason for visiting the town. We ate at the Alexandra Hotel in the evenings as there was a good choice of meals and the parking was free after 6pm. The weather was cool but dry so didn't stop the siteseeing. A lovely lovely place and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 & 2 have the loch views

My wife and I recently stayed here and really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and tidy and very welcoming. There's just something about this guest house that makes you feel as if you've stayed here a million times. It has a lovely lounge with tea and coffee and even a wee biscuit or 2 to enjoy and talk with other guest. The room we had at the front of the house had a beautiful view over the loch and was well furnished and very comfortable with an en-suite shower room. We had tea/coffee in our room along with a tv and a very comfy bed. The breakfast spread was very good and with all that you could wish for, yogurts, muffins, cereals and much more and then you have your cooked breakfast, which is more that enough to see you through to lunchtime. I have stayed in many B&B's, guest houses and hotels and this one rates very highly. We will definitely stay here again. Absolutely no complaints about Buccleuch Guest House 10/10.

Room Tip: Any room is a good room but a loch view is nice to wake up to.

My two sons and I stayed at Buccleuch Guest House for four nights in early May. The weather wasn't good but Lorna and Stewart made us very welcome and were very amenable - Stewart provided a useful map and gave us some good suggestions for a road trip around Lochaber on one of our wet days and also excellent suggestions for meals. Lorna was happy to oblige when we wanted to 'mix and match' for breakfast - which was always good - including perfect poached eggs. The B&B is nicely located - close to town but with beatiful views across the Loch. I hope to return with my wife. She's not such a keen walker as my sons and I, but there are plenty of moderate walks and other things to do, and on a good day the coast will be glorious. I will try to get either room 1 or 2 next time as they have the best views of the Loch.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 or 2 have the best views of the Loch

The greates b&b we went to during our short trip to Scotland!!
The house is warm and lovely, so well decorated and it is a pleasure to arrive there after a long day in the cold outside. We were given a very nice room with everything we could expect, comfy bed, whole necessary for tea/coffee making, and an ensuite huge bathroom !
The breakfast in the veranda overlooking the loch is just amazing, with more food you could expect, freshly cooked upon demand.
Lorna was so cheerful and helpful for us, and her husband gave us a very nice map he just draw himself, to show us the best journey for the rest of our trip.
And the house is a 10 minute walk to Fort William main street, where you'll find many restaurants.
We recommand Buccleuch B&b and would be glad to return this place, should we go back to Fort William.

The Buccleuch Guest house was easy to find on the main road into Fort William with excellent off-street parking. The view from our room across the gardens and out to the bay was pleasant, almost rural, despite being so close to town. The hosts were helpful and showed us to a quiet and comfortable room. This B&B has the best breakfast selection we have ever seen (see our picture)! Thoroughly recommended.

We booked two nights here,en route to Skye. My partner and i from Spain and my sister and her husband. We were so happy here ,Lorna and Stuart really know their business.A lovely friendly couple who make you welcome as soon as you arrive.Lovely rooms with toiletries, tea or coffee and biscdts and stunning views over the mountains or Loch Linnhe.
Breakfast ,well what a selection!Anything you could possibly want and in abundance. Our only regret was that we weren´t staying longer at this fabulous place.Excellent in every way and very, very reasonably priced.Next time we are in Scotland we will treat ourselves to a week in this relaxing tranquil setting with a lovely couple who welcome you like old friends!
Thank you both and don´t stop what you´re doing, you both do it so well!

My partner and I stayed here in July 2012 for two nights. We were a last minute booking and so they only had room 5 (the smallest room with not much of a view) left. Having said this, the hosts were very good, the setting is lovely, the rooms and whole establishment is clean and tidy and the breakfasts were great. You also didn't have to get up too early! The location is fantastic, a lovely walk to the restaurants and bars and Ben Nevis car park is a few minutes drive away. The guest house offers ample free car parking too.We would definitely stay here again and we would make sure we had room 1 or 2 as the views were amazing and we would have loved staring out of them every morning! So my tip is: BOOK EARLY and enjoy.

Room Tip: Pick room1 or 2 for amazing views
