Even if you have researched all the activities you want to do when visiting Fort William it’s still a good idea to pop into this Information Centre when you arrive, especially if you have travelled there by train and are going to be dependent on public transport throughout your stay.

Amongst other places, we wanted to visit the Nevis Range Mountain Experience, and the Ben Nevis Distillery and Visitor Centre while we were staying there, but we didn’t know how to get to them.

Their telephone number is listed, so I called them before we arrived to ask some questions. Helpfully they pointed out that all the bus timetables would be changing on the day we arrived, and suggested we come into the shop to see them when we got there, giving me directions on how to find them. Conveniently we were staying at the Travelodge, so we had to walk past their shop anyway as it was in the same road, so it couldn’t have been easier

When we went in they provided us with free maps, bus timetables and brochures for the places we wanted to go, so the information was invaluable.

All the people working there were very pleasant and helpful and the shop also sells souvenirs and a whole range other items which my wife assures me were very reasonably priced – although being a man I will confess I had kind of drifted off by that stage

Conveniently located in the centre of the High Street which is the main thoroughfare in Fort William, it’s certainly worth a visit for up to date information and ideas

This information centre is located 5 mins from Fort William railway station and on the high street. It is free and provided us excellent information. We were in Fort William in 2nd week of June 2014 and visited this information centre. We were provided with a map and got details of Lower falls. We also got all the taxi service phone numbers and necessary information.
Overall it was good and provides nice information.

In a very good spot in Fort William, bright and airy giving a good overview of the history of the area and local industry.
Well worth a visit if you are in the town centre

We stopped by to get information about the surrounding area. We checked out their maps and found many different gifts.

Staff friendly. Plenty of leaflets giving a good choice of attractions and activities. Leave gifts to local shops! Fort William itself is very run down and almost derelict in places! Mostly charity shops and tacky touristy shops. Not very encouraging when it is considered one of our top tourist destinations. Needs a thorough make-over.
