The Farm House B&B
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Our daughter visited this place and strongly recommended to stay her. We did it! Not easy to find but whoever wants to find it they will make it. Very authentic farm, very friendly owner (Brian), good sleep, fair price (30GBP/person/night) fresh food for breakfast and good discussion with Brian about the life in farm. We recommend to everyone who enjoys this.

Stayed at this excellent B&B whilst touring the Highlands. What a totally brilliant place. We were given the downstairs bedroom - complete with open fire and victorian proportions and decor. The room itself was large, with a double and a single bed, a comfy settee, TV and free wifi.

My partner and I were dead tired and fell into bed, and what a bed - luxuriously comfy, with a fluffy duvet and soft pillows. Toilet and shower room were just down the hall, but private to us - they weren't the cramped facilities one general finds in B&Bs - two large showers, with easily controllable water.

We slept really well and had we not asked for breakfast at 8.30, we might well have snuggled there all day! The dining room might have been the set for a BBC period drama. It came complete with antique furniture and a piano as well as another open fire (I think I heard the wood for that being chopped while I was showering!).

The breakfast was sumptuous! A range of cereals, fruit salad, a bowl of fruit, Orange juice, milk and iced water - and that was just the beginning! We had a choice of a full scottish breakfast, or poached, boiled or scrambled eggs. Himself went for the full scottish nd I had boiled eggs - they turned up perfectly soft-boiled, with soldiers for dipping. The yolks were a beautiful deep yellow - as you only find from happy free-range chickens, and indeed, we met a few of the chickens later on as we were leaving, as the Farm is a working farm, and the chickens roam freely eating grass and flowers at will.

I haven't said anything yet about our host Brian. What a delightful gentleman! Nothing was too much trouble, he was pleasant to talk to, attentive to our needs and with a fount of intersting stories to share. I would go back there in a heartbeat - heck - I'd love to *live* there!

We were on a short break visiting Skye in August 2013 and when away you need to find somewhere to stay. We were very lucky we found an excellent Farm House that does B&B. We found it very friendly, homely, comfortable - just what your looking for when you are away from home. Will definitely go back. A big thank you to the Host who looks after everyone who visits.

Fresh, clean and extremely welcoming place to stay. Traditional farmhouse with chickens wandering around and sheep/geese/horses in the field. Brian was an excellent host and the kids were thrilled to help feed the chucks and collect the eggs, and you cannot beat the freshest eggs you'll ever eat for breakfast.
Shared bathroom, however we were on the same floor as the shower room and toilet so we didn't find it a problem at all. 2 good showers and sinks with seperate toilet. Our room was an excellent size with a double bed, single bed & double sofa bed in it and still plenty of room for a chair, cot, tv, open fire with surround and move around space. The dining room was also spacious.
Top all that off with a beautiful remote location and a great breakfast.
Excellent clean fresh homely accomodation.

We stayed at this place last weekend. I think this is one of this under-rated and under-marketed places, but gets more exciting as you go along. Farm House is full of pleasant surprises. The building itself is centuries old, but at the same time it is not flashy or overwhelming in anyway. History doesnt stare at your face, but it is very sublimal and subtle. It is nice and cosy, i felt a huge sense of modesty and warmth on the building. Its good value for money, particularly at a time when everyone sets up bed and breakfast on any tourist location. Brian and Holly will keep you right, they are very welcoming at the same time gives a lot of privacy and support whenever u need. Farm itself is good place to wander around. I am sure this place will get famous in the years to come, as there is lot of hidden potential. I took many pictures of the farm, but i could only upload three. It is a really good base to explore kyle, We will go back soon.
