All the staff look like they were about to commit suicide I mean have they herd of service with a smile? The boss woman was so impatient and we constantly herd her telling the staff she wanted to be out before 9pm(closing time) so when an order went in at ten two 9 her attitude was worse than before. The food was ok but nothing special. We live in nairn but the dolphin in the one chippy I try to avoid.

There aren't that many decent chippies these days - but The Dolphin certainly doesn't fall into that category... The fish that my partner had and my deep fried, battered haggis was done to perfection. Thanks guys, I'll be back...

The Dolphin is located on Nairn High Street across from the library car park and is a standard Scottish fish and chicken bar. They sell fish and chicken suppers, burgers, drinks, and side orders such as a poke of chips etc and are geared towards take away and not sit in, however there are tables.

As such the decor is cheap and nasty but functional for their type of clientele so don't expect glamor. The service was okay, my order was taken within a minute of walking in the door, however there seemed to be loads of staff all chatting amongst themselves so their focus was not on the customers.

The fish supper I ordered was not the best to be fair; the fish was over fried so the batter came off the flesh in a sheet and the chips although properly cooked, were tasteless. The fish supper was served in a polystyrene tray wrapped in paper - not newspaper - and didn't add anything to the meal. Lastly, the price was on the high side but as with everything at present, is to be expected.

Due to the above, I would choose to eat somewhere else, next time.
