The rooms in this hotel are very tiny. I would not take large suitcases into the room as they would not fit. The room is clean, however the shower space is very small and the water pressure for the shower is almost non existent. The landlord was very friendly and the food was of a good standard. I had the pork BBQ ribs which were very tasty and would definitely recommend if you have to stay there. On another positive note a good selection of ales were available at the bar.

Stayed on Saturday just for 1 night had a fab time. The room we had was small but it's an Inn not a big 5 star hotel and it was more than adequate for us, we had everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay. The staff were brilliant no airs and graces just genuine nice people who made us feel so welcome. Food is served in the lounge/ bar and the quality of the meals was brilliant. Breakfast is served in a beautiful relaxing room and unlimited coffee is served. I defiantly would stay here again if I'm up that area again.

Room Tip: Room 5 is small with a very small adequate en suite. Very quiet and relaxing

Lets put this in perspective. For two of us for room and a good breakfast, the cost was £68. On Boxing Day/overnight.

I cant accept some of the earlier reviews. The hotel most certainly is not dirty.

Although room 5 bathroom was a little bit short of space last year, this year we were in room 10 with a much bigger bathroom. It was a family room with double and single bed, and yes, I suppose might be a bit cramped for 3 adults. However the double bed was comfy, the furniture was better quality than your average Premier or Jurys Inn. Additionally, for two of us there were three packets of biscuits and more than enough tea, coffee and UHT milk than we needed-which is more than can be said for a lot of budget hotels. The room had an alarm clock and external phone facility, as well as digital TV. Ok so the only toiletries were two little packets of Lux soap, but Ive had worse (or none, in Aberdeen)

The hotel bar is well stocked and there is a kiddy play area at the far end of the room. Big screen TV and juke box are available, and you have the choice of typical pub seating or high stools at the bar. I believe that evening meals are offered, and the menu choice is indicated on a blackboard in the bar. The menu though limited looks interesting.

I will agree that the decor is dated, and the reception area lacks a bit of atmosphere, but otherwise its picky to fault the place for the price and the fact that its open on Boxing night - and if you look at my other reviews I am not that easily impressed.

The breakfast was good, we could have had cereal or porridge, but asked for bacon sausage mushrooms tomato. We could have had egg as well. It came with (deep!) fried bread. The bacon was very tasty and the sausage good quality. Yes I suppose it might have been heated up, but the grilled tomato was definitely fresh. With copious toast and tea, it went down well. Fruit juice and kippers were also available.

All the staff were friendly, and Douglas, one of the owners, particularly attentive serving breakfast.

The Inn is on the main bus route from Inverness to Aberdeen, in a loop off the A96 main road, is in an area steeped in history and close to lots of highland attractions, and has a good car park

Room Tip: We liked room 10 better than 5, and it is further away from the bar, so probably quieter in busy tim...

We stayed here on a golfing trip. Only stayed one night. It is not somewhere I would stay again. The mattress on my bed was broken down. The door to the bathroom could only open halfway because it hit the toilet. The shower was tiny, but it did have a good flow of hot water. The staff was very nice but the place is way out of date.

The staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was any bother to them although the room was on the small side it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the bar was really great. We met lot of interesting and friendly locals.

Disappointed in this hotel, very small room and the bathroom was so tiny that the door couldn't open properly because it hit the toilet. The fan made a horrendous noise and the shower was broken. We complained and got a replacement shower head . Evening meal was enjoyable but the breakfast looked as if it had been heated up. Room was clean and staff were friendly but wont be returning not worth the money.
