“Best B&B ever”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

We have just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay with Sheelagh at Greenlawns with a feeling of having made new friends. Great Scottish breakfast but don't miss out on the Kedgeree. Would definitely recommend this home from home. We will be returning as soon as we can.

Room Tip: As we had a small well-behaved dog we were given a lovely room with the biggest bathroom ever. Plen...

Jan, Nick and Monty(the doggie) It was lovely to have you all stay here at Greenlawns and I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay here. Your company was lovely, enjoyed the chats. So glad that you enjoyed the breakfasts and my kedgeree!! It's one of my favourite dishes. Room 8 has been refurbished this year and its great to hear that we have done it right!! Take care and I hope you will be back soon. Sheelagh

Simply brilliant. Stayed as a prelude to the Coast to Coast event which meant that we had to be the Community centre in Nairn for not long after 7am. Breakfast was ready at 5, Sheelagh could not have been more helpful.
The room was ideal. Free Wi fi in the main house.
We were made ro feel welcome thw moment Sheelagh opened the door.

Would stay again without any hesitation.

Our friend Angus John Maclellan booked 3 nights at Greenlawns on our behalf....and what a wee gem (well actually a diamond!) of a place to stay. The generous nature of its owners, Sheelagh and Dave, hits you immediately and within minutes you are relaxed and soaking up the comfort and peace of their home and garden which is a stone's throw from the beach promenade.
Sheelagh's breakfast is the best in the world....literally. Her extensive menu beats the top hotels (who would charge £25 a head) hands down. Fresh local produce cooked and served to perfection - and plenty of it. Can't wait to come back. Thanks again Sheelagh for a really special stay.

It was really lovely to meet you both and thanks for the good chat and the really fabulous review. David, my hubby, would like to sample some of it!!! he feels left out as he says he gets the leftovers!!! Good luck with the mosaics, and thanks for sharing them, they were really inventive and good fun to have in the garden. Thanks again for everything and we would love to welcome you both back soon .

I can't say enough good about this place. From the moment we arrived and we were met by Sheila. We arrived 4 hours early for check but the room was ready and Sheila was happy to welcome us in. Despite obviously being very busy at the time. Sheila even offered to turn the heating on for us. Maybe she thought we were southern softies! The room was was clean and the beds comfortable. They even had electric blankets! Lots of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. I can recommend the kedgeree! The purpose of our trip was to take part in the Coast to Coast so on the Saturday morning we had to be up at 4:30. Now most places would leave out cereal and milk and let you get on with it. Not Sheila, who was up at the crack of dawn to welcome us with a fresh pot of coffee and toast! Thanks for a fantastic two days.

Two weeks in Scotland, seven B&Bs....and Greenlawns was the best of them all!
I have stayed with Sheelagh at Greenlawns twice, now; and her welcoming spirit and willingness to help her guests find the local flavor makes staying there all that much better.

Her breakfasts are wonderfully cooked to order, and the rooms are appointed with flair. Oftentmes, the decor of the room in a B&B is either too "homey" or too bland, but the rooms at Greenlawns are warm and welcoming without being overdone. Sheelagh has shown wonderful style in how she has decorated everything. The Garden Room is a wonderful place to begin the day....very colorful and the windows out on to the garden give it a country atmosphere.

I can't wait for my third stay at Greenlawns!!

Super friendly!!! I needed a place for my mother and cousin to stay after their long journeys from Australia and Istanbul, respectively, to attend my marriage in Scotland (my husband and I are from Australia, too). The host was delightful and fabulous in every way, and looked after my relatives with the absolute best of Scottish hospitality. Greenlawns is a haven for the visitor. Great food, clean, located in a lovely area of Nairn and a convenient walk to both shops and beach. Happy memories!!

The second phase of our Scotland holiday took us north by ScotRail to Inverness and Nairn, where we stayed in an excellent B&B called Greenlawns and met a most delightful Sheelagh Southwell. The B&B is well kept with a variety of things to do for visiotrs of all ages. She and husband Dave have lovely gardens and it is situated on a pretty quiet street. The homes all around are well kept with beautiful front gardens, and we fell in love with Nairn. Everything is within comfortable walking distance, especially the park and the Moray Firth, where we experienced one of the most beautiful sunsets we've ever seen anywhere! Also comfortable walking distance to 2 very good dining establishments- The Classroom and The Braeval. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was large! A great B&B to stay in and we will certainly return! Breakfast was very good, and Sheelagh makes great pancakes. The Scottish salmon and eggs is not to be passed up!
