Stayed a second time at the Boath House and again we weren't disappointed. The rooms are wonderful, the staff so friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic (dinner or breakfast). Great choice of wines. A truly wonderful place to stay. We will be back.

The Boath House is a hidden gem ! As true foodies we were attracted by the Michelin star; everything we ate during our 3 day stay lived up to our expectations and a credit to the chef and his team. The canapés which arrived with pre dinner drinks were excellent and set high expectations for the 6 course dinner – we were not disappointed. The creative menu is executed to perfection and although it’s set, the chef is happy to offer alternatives (we overheard other diners asking for changes to some items, however we were asked on making our reservation if there was anything we didn’t like to eat). The bread is all made on the premises and crafted to suit the dishes it accompanies – it was all first class. It’s rare to find a hotel where this high standard of food preparation extends to everything the establishment has to offer, however the breakfast was superb too ! A range of options is included to suit those looking for a healthier start to the day right through to those seeking something cooked. There were freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies which were different every day. You have to visit and taste the porridge for yourself – it’s stunningly good, served with an apricot puree and crème fraiche. The cooked options ranged from the traditional full Scottish to poached duck egg with smoked mackerel served with a home made muffin – all were superb. Our room was spacious and comfortable with views over the walled garden to one side and the lake to the other. The bathroom was large and had a range of luxury toiletries. Free WiFi is also provided throughout the hotel. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and in our opinion deserve 10/10 for service. Places like the Boath House don’t exist in too many locations and we hope it remains this way as we’ll definitely be back !

My wife and I chose boath house for our "mini-moon" after our wedding in scotland. We chose it based on the size of the hotel (6 rooms - very "boutique" and avoiding crowds for sure !) and the Michelin Star restaurant ! As it was in February we managed to get a decent offer including 3 nights bed, breakfast & dinner.
We were in room 4 ("lake view") which is the nicest room we ever stayed in. We found the service to be warm, welcoming unpretentious and attentive which probably made the stay as wonderful as it was. The restaurant was true to its Michelin star, especially the breakfast (we recommend the truffled eggs on toast !).
Although the evening menu was set (breakfast menu is fixed) and changed on a daily basis we found the restaurant to be extremely flexible - taking into consideration dietary requests / dislikes.
Overall we had an amazing experience at the boath house and would definitely go back again for a similar length of stay

Finding a lovely, serene, exceptional place like this makes travelling worth it. This Georgian house is really nice. Our room was stunning. Dinner is a three hour marathon, and not cheap at 65 quid, but the food is exquisite. This kind of eating in Scotland is a rarity. Nice wine list

An historic Georgian house converted into a boutique hotel and operated by people who care - could it be better? Yes, add a beautiful garden setting in about 8 hectares (20 acres for some of you); a great kitchen garden to wander through and a dining room / restaurant with a chef whose food is sublime and who has been recognised for it year after year for more than ten years. Then there are the attentive but friendly and down-to -earth staff.

If you want modern, chain hotel style, then do not bother but if comfort, history, real care and, in the best sense, a little "Pride and Prejudice' break, then this is the place. We were in an upstairs large room and the views were of long rural vistas, trees and the lake.

We have stayed in top hotels and country houses in many countries but certainly would have Boath House high on the list of places to return to with high anticipation.

Outstanding evening dinner. Beautiful Regency Mansion. Unexpected gallery milleau. Fine rooms - lovely contrast between tradional and contemporary room choices. Local foods simply superb. Excellent local Benromach Scotch Whiskey offered before dinner and which prompted a visit to the Distillery (by the way, one of the very best personal tours of a distillery - ever). Staff at Boath House were helpful, relaxed and accommodating. Dinner service was flawless.
