Parkdean - Nairn Lochloy Holiday Park
Reviewed 14 July 2013

The site is spotless and very well maintained with staff out every morning lifting litter, cutting grass. We had booked a 2 bedroom caravan which I think was probably the most basic model. It was very clean, beds were made up and all the kitchen utensils you would need., excellent shower etc.
The only facility letting down Lochloy is the swimming pool. The pool itself is clean but I thought the changing rooms and round the pool was a bit grubby- needs a wee bit investment, floor matting and a good clean.
Staff throughout the site are courteous, smiley and helpful , great with all the young kids .
The site is ideally located at the harbour in Nairn and you walk from the site through the sand dunes onto the beach which is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK. Even on a glorious hot day the beach is very quiet and lots of room for everyone.
Nairn is a small town - pleasant enough with lots to do if the weather is not great although we had sunshine all week.

Nairn Lochloy park is next to Nairn beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK, it has silver sand, sapphire water and dolphins, stunning.
We had booked the top of the range caravan, unfortunately the previous inhabitants had left it very smelly despite staff thoroughly cleaning it. When we complained we were given a different caravan and a bottle of wine as apology, great customer service.
The grounds are green and spacious and there is wildlife galore around, plenty if black birds, sparrows, starlings and rabbits.
The indoor pool is warm, clean and has plenty if floats etc to keep children entertained, there us also a smaller pool for toddlers, the changing room/showers are a bit tired.
The outside play area caters for all ages and is well maintained.
The kids entertainment was thoroughly enjoyed by my son, we didn't see the later shows but what I saw advertised looked varied. Clubhouse drinks prices are very reasonable.
Nairn itself is a quiet resort, there are none of the shops selling garish rock, buckets and spades and other tat you often find at seaside resorts. The local people are lovely and friendly. Nearby you have Inverness, Loch Ness and another amazing beach at Lossiemouth. There are local castles and sites of historical importance to visit and a few distilleries to keep everyone happy.
I would definitely recommend this resort to any friends and family.

We took our touring caravan here for 2 nights. Site is lovely with good facilities, a great beach and a good location. Staff were helpful and the facilities for tourers are everything you would need. Would definitely return to this site again.

Just back from staying 3 nights at Nairn Lochloy holiday park. We stayed in basic caravan with double and twin room. Caravan was quite small but had plenty of room for the two of us. We were able to use twin room form our suitcase and clothes etc. Caravan had fully functioning kitchen, small bathroom with shower and sitting area with gas fire which was lovely in cold evenings. Caravan was also very clean and it was lovely to come in and all beds were made up meaning we could dump our things and go straight out for dinner with no fuss. Only criticism of caravan would be curtains are very light colour and fabric so we found it hard to sleep in in the morning. Park itself was also very clean and well laid out with everything easy to find. We used the pool which was quite small but very nice and also used the sauna which was very enjoyable. We ventured out on one of the nights to the bar area and entertainment and were pleasantly surprised. The singers were very good (if a bit too loud!) and the bar staff were friendly and helpful. There seemed to be a pizza place on site but this was never open possibly due to being off season however the restaurant provided good food and we went out to Nairn and Inverness to eat most times so this didn't bother us too much at all. Very good cheap budget holiday and would be happy to go back and also use Parkdean's other sites in UK.

Sitting just over the dunes from Nairn beach this park is the ideal location for a holiday park. The staff were welcoming and helpful on reception, in the leisure complex and in the shop. The caravan was spotlessly clean with everything you would need if you chose to self cater, we chose to try restaurants in Nairn so can't comment on the food available on site. We did sample the entertainment one night and the staff were working their socks off to make sure there was a good holiday atmosphere which everybody seemed to be enjoying. We chose this as a base to visit Inverness and enjoy walks in the area but there was a full entertainment programme for families, a swimming pool and playpark for anybody who would prefer to stay put on the park. The closeness of the beach will be perfect once the Scottish summer arrives.

We stayed in one of the more basic caravans on a very cold Spring weekend. We were rather shocked by how freezing it was without central heating (almost cried coming out of the shower) so would definitely recommend spending the extra money for one of the more modern caravans with central heating. They are probably much roomier as well.
The caravan itself was very clean- I've stayed in 5 star hotels that have been dirtier.
That said, the site is spotless, has a very good kids play park and loads of local attractions. Very family oriented. Close by is a nice walk along the river, a beach and a forest so a good weekend can be had very cheaply.

The pizza takeaway on site was reasonably priced and tasty.

Entertainment at night was great for the kids.

Room Tip: Make sue you pick on with central heating if here for Scottish Spring or Autumn.
