“Fantastic home from home”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We stay here regularly and it almost feels like our second home now. Rachel and John and their gorgeous daughters are always so welcoming and friendly. The bedrooms are comfortable and spotless. John is a fantastic chef and the meals are excellent. The breakfast is superb with everything you could wish for. Have tried hard to think of a criticism - but can't think of one! Would highly recommend this lovely hotel.

What a great place. From the friendly welcome through the great view over the Moray Firth via stylish, tasty and well-presented food and a good night's sleep to the excellent breakfast, it was a delight from start to finish. Rachel, John (and the in-laws) fully deserve the plaudits which they have received from other reviewers. For those who enjoy interesting, unusual and well-chosen wines at a reasonable price, the wine list is a real pleasure to read (and taste). Large range of whiskies and digéstifs and, for sad people who get excited about such things, blisteringly fast wi-fi throughout the hotel. In short, a very good reason to visit Nairn.

Room Tip: Although Room 6 costs a little more, it is big and has wonderful views onto the sea and over the Mor...

We arrived early - and as we had emailed to say we would be early the owner had made sure our room was ready for us! Great - no hanging around which allowed us to start our holiday straightaway. The rooms and dining room were immaculate and the service was lovely. The breakfast was top notch which all helped to enhance our first visit to the area. The hotel sits on the edge of the Moray Firth with a fabulous beach and endless walks with Nairn just round the corner the Sunny Brae is a great place to stay!

Stayed here for 1 night mid April 14 as one of our stops on our road trip of Scotland. Chose it for its appearance as we hand not booked in advance. We found it a very clean and well run family hotel that also provided excellent food. Would use the hotel again.

We stayed at Sunny Brae for a night in early April 2014 and were very impressed with this small family run hotel. Lovely room with a great sea front view, warm welcome from the owner and surprisingly sophisticated dinner in a very attractive dining room. in fact I was a bit blown away by the menu choices (great fish and meat), the quality of the cooking and the excellent wine list. I believe the chef is a family member and he has certainly been trained well. Breakfast was equally good with good fish choices as well as the traditional Scottish feast. This is a 'class' hotel. Do try it out if you are staying in Nairn.

This is a lovely hotel. It is spotlessly clean and the hosts and staff could not be more welcoming.

The breakfast was delicious and we had two evening meals that were so good.

This was a perfect location for my Mum to take a trip down memory lane.

The view of the Black Isle from both the restaurant and lounge was great and we were lucky to have some lovely weather.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nairn or the surrounding area.

We stayed at Sunny Brae for 3 nights, we had a fantastic time. The hotel is spotless the staff are brilliant. We stayed in the Master room which is huge with a huge bathroom and the views are amazing overlooking the beach and further afield the mountains. The food was delicious both for dinner and breakfast. There was fresh fruit that was replenished each day along with bottles of mineral water. We will certainly return again. Thank you for brilliant break.

Room Tip: All the rooms have lovely views either over the South facing gardens or over the beach
